If First Aid was part of my training, I really can’t remember it. In such circumstances I normally go straight to Charles for a blow-by-blow account of what to do, but fear not, Takeshi is on the scene.
I have Charles on standby just in case.
‘He must give Quell cardiopulmonary resuscitation. In other words, CPR.’
Takeshi places his hand on Quell’s forehead and tilts it back. He opens her airway by lifting her chin with two of his fingers. He presses on her breastbone around thirty times, then opens her mouth and twice blows air. Rinse and repeat.
Throughout, Charles nods in approval.
‘He’s doing good. Usually in TV and films they compress the chest a couple of times. That is unsurprisingly insufficient.’
I don’t know why he makes that reference. Takeshi’s doing it right and that
