Chapter 15

1915 Words

15 The rock breaks free from the ground and we’re lifted into the air. A loud groan accompanies this force of nature, and one of the suns is blotted out from the sky like Mick Jagger’s lips have painted it black. We rise ever higher, gripping on for dear life. The groan becomes almost a high-pitched yodel. ‘This is no rock…’ ‘Climb higher up,’ says Takeshi, and he climbs over the large lumps that look like boulders. We reach a plateau, and the world around us is moving. I look to the sky and I have to slap myself. I’m dreaming, surely I’m dreaming. We’re standing on the shoulders of a giant. A long-necked titan. ‘I never thought I'd utter these words that are abouts to leaves my lips,’ says Pip, temporarily forgetting about his vertigo, ‘but we are riding a huge-a*s Brontosaurus.’
