Chapter TenOn my way back after wasting what I assume is a suitable amount of time, I hear some familiar voices talking, mentioning my name. I pause. Sounds like Chris has joined forces with the evil twins. “Really, I’m not sure this is wise. Don’t get drawn in by the first pretty young thing that looks your way, Pete.” I hear Chris say. “I mean you’ve only just finalised the divorce...” What the... “Absolutely, I’m sorry to say, but she’s just after your money, I can guarantee it,” says a shrill female voice. You should know, b***h! I wait and listen to more of the conversation, but my heart has sunk already. My biggest worries about today had focused around what to say if the conversation shifts to something I know nothing about. Or perhaps if I slip up and go all liberal on someone.
