Chapter FourteenAs foreseen, Peter’s references check out and come Saturday afternoon, his phone rings. Overhearing only half the conversation suggests it’s the lettings agent about collecting the keys. Peter is visibly excited while setting the meeting, but I’m suddenly overcome with a bit of melancholy. “Would you like to come along?” he asks, after hanging up the phone. “Sure.” I smile, even though I can’t shake the sadness at the prospect of him moving out again.
