CHAPTER 23

JOY’S POV

As I was walking to the field, I remembered that I had forgotten something in my cabin. I stopped and wondered if I should go back or not. I just decided not to, and I went straight for a walk. When I got to the field, my eyes widened when I saw the man flying in the air, and I immediately bent down. When I looked where it came from, my eyes widened because there was a huge dragon as bright as the stars in the sky.

“Whoah? Is that Matius?” I asked looking in disbelief at the dragon in front of me.

“Where is he?” I turned to the arrival.

“Aunt Pneona, here!” I said, then pointed to where Matius was.

“What’s happening?” asked Myxy, who was just following Aunt Pneona.

“He lost his control,” he said, and then I looked at the dragon in front of us.

Myxy immediately went to her dragon and tried to calm him down, but he continued to spew fire, which caused the entire pack to provide even tighter security. Myxy is confused about what to do and what can calm him down. Myxy looked at the people around her, then gave them a signal not to show their sharp weapons.

“Get out of the field first,” ordered Myxy.

Everyone looked at Haiden and asked if they would follow what Myxy was saying. Haiden looked at all of them, then he looked at Myxy, but he looked, badly at everyone who followed her, and I don't know if I should laugh or if I should just keep quiet.

“It’s better if Myxy is the Alpha than you, Haiden,” I said, then he winced.

When everyone got out, we just stayed where we were, then I looked at what Myxy was going to do. She placed her palm on the dragon’s face, and she approached him little by little. “Matius, it’s me, Myxy. Tell me what happened, and I’ll help you,” she said in a calm voice.

I just looked at Myxy and frowned when I felt someone holding my hand. When I looked to see who it was, I saw that Titus was there, looking at Myxy. I immediately took my hand back and then looked at him evilly, and he just smiled at me as if nothing had happened. I looked at Myxy again, and she was just looking at her dragon, and after a while, it suddenly lit up and turned into a child. Matius lost his consciousness and was immediately caught by Myxy. Haiden then approached Myxy.

We approached Myxy, then we looked at Matius, who was unconscious. When I saw his face, I couldn’t help feeling sorry for him because I could see that he was going through something bad. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief because of what happened.

“What happened?” Myxy asked.

“I don’t know; I just arrived,” I said.

“While he was here earlier, he suddenly became like that. But he was even more lost when he saw one of the trainees with a sword pointed at his neck, causing him to suddenly jump,” said one of the onlookers.

“You didn’t say that he doesn’t like violence,” said Karol, who was already behind us.

Myxy just sighed, then we brought her to their cabin and let her rest. He didn’t do anything, but I could feel how tired he was from what happened earlier. Even so, my pity was there for him and for whatever happened to him in his past life. As I looked at Matius, I could only think of the bad experiences I had, especially when I was young.

I looked at Myxy, who was just looking at Matius, and I could see that there were things he couldn’t say, and he didn’t know how to say them. Actually, even though Myxy is strong, I know that sometimes she can’t hide that she is also weak.

“How did you meet Matius’s aunt?” Myxy asked her aunt, and I just looked at them and listened to whatever they could talk about.

“I met him when I needed a gem. His brother Matis was the one holding that gem, but I didn’t notice Matius at the time because he was too young at the time. I don’t even know where he is, but Matis mentioned him several times. He wanted to help Matius, but he couldn’t, and he didn’t know how to help him,” he said.

I looked at Matius, then I winced and saw him frown, and I saw tears falling from the corner of his eyes. I immediately wiped it off and held his hand. His youth was not good, and I know that some things happened to him. I stood up, and I went outside to think clearly.

I took a deep breath, then I looked in another direction. While my world was silent, suddenly someone stood next to me and broke my silence. I retreated, then he came close to me. I bit my lip, gave him a bad look, and warned him not to come near me.

“What are you doing?” I asked, annoyed.

“Accompanying you? Because your thoughts are so deep, and I have been noticing for a while that there seems to be something in you that you cannot express,” he said.

“I just feel sorry for that boy,” I said, and then he looked me in the eyes.

“Pity? Why? You don’t know each other, and you don’t have anything in common,” he said, then I looked in another direction.

I ignored him, then I looked at my hand, and that’s when I thought. Actually, what I experienced before was not that complicated because I know that there are still beautiful things that have happened to me. I didn’t feel sorry for Matius just because I also experienced what he experienced several times, but because it’s hard to have a past you can’t forget, especially if it will be the reason for it to become even more complicated.

“Whatever you think, you don’t have to worry,” he said, then I winced.

“I know, but I can’t help but be afraid,” I said, and I looked at him. “It’s hard to have that kind of experience, but I know that you also need to forget the things that will hinder you in the future.”

Titus didn’t speak anymore, and I heard him sigh. “Honestly, the only person who has given me courage since losing my parents is Haiden. What I enjoy in the world of people, all that is because of him. So I can be sure that someone will also give strength to Matius. If it’s not Myxy, it’s probably you,” he said, and I looked at him and then smiled.

I stood up, then I looked behind me, I saw Karol smiling at Titus and me. I don’t like what he’s thinking, but I’m disgusted by what’s on his mind. Titus stood up, and then he looked at me and Karol with a smile on his face. I just left the two of them there, and I went inside the cabin where Myxy was.

When I entered, I saw Myxy and Aunt Pneona talking, and I could see that they were talking very seriously. I frowned because of their open mouths, but I couldn’t even hear their voices. I frowned, then I looked around, but Haiden wasn’t there. As I look at them, I wonder what they are talking about and how only the two of them understand each other.

“What are you doing there?” I looked at the speaker, and there I saw Haiden, who had just arrived.

“You surprised me!” I said, then he winced.

“So, what are you doing there?” he asked while looking at what I was looking for.

When we both looked up, Myxy and her aunt had vanished, and I frowned. They disappeared so quickly, and I won’t be surprised because Haiden’s voice is too loud. I just shook my head at him, then I just shrugged. He frowned at me, then scratched his head.

“Do you see something I don’t?” he asked and actually followed me. “Did a soul come out of Matius?” he added.

I stopped, then looked at him evilly. “You know, if I wasn’t just your friend and you hadn’t become an Alpha, I probably would have punched your face,” I said, annoyed, then he was silent.

“I saw you and Titus a while ago sitting and talking deeply. Are you two now?” he asked, making my eyes widen.

“Why does a man like you like gossiping now?”

“I’m just asking. Is that illegal?”

“You intrigue me; you don’t ask.” I turned my back on him, then I went out, and I grabbed my chest because of the shock. “MYXY!”

“What?”

“You surprised me! You’re like your husband suddenly appeared!”

I left their cabin, then I just went to my cabin so that we could have more privacy. I grabbed my head, and I closed my eyes tightly because of what happened. Then I remembered the conversation Titus and I had earlier. To be honest, he’s handsome, but I don’t understand why he likes me, apart from the fact that I’m a crazy dog who doesn’t know where to go.

I looked at my parents’ picture frame. I haven’t seen them lately, and to be honest, sometimes I miss them, but I have to be independent now because I know they won’t be there for me forever. I cooked something to eat, and while I was preparing it, I heard someone knocking on the door. I immediately opened it and saw Titus’ face. I immediately closed the door and then went back to cooking because maybe I was only imagining what I saw. But I stopped when someone knocked again and thought.

“What is that crazy dog going to do in my cabin?” I wondered.

When I was ready to eat, I opened the door, and he smiled at me and had a bouquet of flowers. “Flowers for my beautiful princess,” he said, then I looked at the flower.

“What are you doing, Titus?” I asked him.

“Courting you? That’s what people do in the human world,” he said, making me frown.

“We are not humans,” I said, annoyed.

“I know. But we have human bodies,” he said.

“Yea, you’re right?” I said, then I let him in.

I smelled the flower he brought, then I secretly smiled. I closed the door and straightened up, then looked at him, and he was about to sit in front of the table when I stopped him because I only cooked one meal and it was just for me. He looked at me and frowned, and I put down the flower I was holding that he had given me earlier.

“You have your own house, and you also have your own money. I didn’t cook for you because it was just for me,” I said, then I sat there and ate.

He just looked at me, then put his elbow on the table and put his face in his palm. I just ignored him and continued with my food. But as time went on, I became uncomfortable, and while he was staring at me, I felt like I was about to melt. It’s like he is the sun, and I’m the ice cream exposed to the sun. This dog is really annoying; why does he keep coming back here? He should not go back and just stay in the world of people and do his business there.

“How long are you going to stare at me like that? Maybe later I will melt here,” I said, and he laughed.

“Do you know that out of all the girls chasing me, you’re the one I like the most?”

“Are you stupid? I’m not chasing you; you expect me to like you?” I said, then I stood up and washed my plate.

“Why don’t you give me a chance to prove to you that I love you?”

“I met you when we were in the human world to find Haiden’s Luna. I wasn’t there to find my destiny.”

He stood up, and I frowned at him. I didn’t know what he was going to do until he got close to me and I saw how serious his face was. I looked into his eyes and saw the thing I was denying. I saw myself with him, and I was happy with him. For some reason, I suddenly realized that when I saw that.

“Do you believe me now?” he asked, and he was very close to me now.

I couldn’t answer him, and it was like I had lost my voice. He came even closer, and I gasped when he grabbed my waist. At that time, he suddenly kissed me, which I did not object to, but I immediately gave him a kiss as well. My body moved spontaneously to what was happening between the two of us, and I felt like I was losing myself, especially when Titus held my neck, and our kiss deepened.

He picked me up, then he brought me to the sofa, and he laid me down there while kissing my lips, and honestly, he almost didn’t want to let go. I don’t know how many minutes we were like that until I felt his hand crawl on my thigh, and I immediately pushed him a little.

“Aren’t we too fast for this?” I asked him.
