Reid’s pov

I had just come back from my trip to the Clearwater pack in Montana, the whole time I was there my wolf titan had been going mad in my head telling me we had to get back home. I thought something bad had happened but when I called my dad he said everything was fine and there was nothing to worry about, I titan everything was fine back home there was no danger and he said “I know you i***t but mate is back home we need to go to her” “are you sure?” I asked him “yes I’m sure we have been waiting for her for 17years I think I would know” “ok,ok no need to be a d**k about it” I rapped up the rest of our business and told my beta Logan we need to get home as titan says out mate is there, “no way, congrats man we have waited too long for our Luna” “I know man but what if she doesn’t want me or has chosen another to mate with, I don’t know if I could handle that” “it’s gonna be fine your just panicking because it’s been so long, I bet once you see each other it’s gonna be like two dogs on heat” he said and roared with laughter. I know he was trying to make me feel better but I just wanted to rip his head for calling my mate a dog. We said our goodbyes and thank yous to alpha moses and his Luna Freya for their hospitality and made our way out front where my warriors were waiting by the SUV’s. As I was walking down the stairs alpha moses came to me and said “can you do me a favour and ask around when you get home if their has been any new residents specifically a woman and three children, two boys and a girl.” “Of course”I said “but may I ask why?” He told my that his head warrior Devon’s chosen mate had left him 3 months ago and took his children with her, I asked him why she left but he said he didn’t know. I had an idea I didn’t like that Devon he gave off a bad vibe and there was just something about him. I told him I would ask around and let him know as soon as I had any information. He thanked me and we said our goodbyes once more before I jumped in the suv and we were on our way home, my best friend and Beta Logan asked me what that was all about with alpha moses? I proceeded to relay the conversation to him when he said “if she is his chosen mate then surely he has marked her and would be able to feel where she is or contact her via mindlink” I didn’t think of that surely he must of tried that before he went his alpha asking for help. But then a thought accrued to me “what if he didn’t mark her and he was still holding out for his mate and was going leave her if she came along anyway?” “Then why would he be asking his alpha to help him find her?” Said Logan “because he’s a douchebag that doesn’t want this woman to leave him, but for him to leave her” “wow, you really don’t like him do you” said Logan while laughing “I don’t know man there’s just something about him, he gives off this vibe I don’t think he’s a nice guy” Logan just nodded his head in understanding. “So your mates back home, are you excited to finally meet her?” “I am but I’m nervous as hell, it’s been 17 years Logan and I know I haven’t been Celibate throughout that time what if she has someone else, she could have kids marriage the lot. I don’t know if my wolf or my ego could take it” “you don’t know that, I’m not saying she’s waited for you that’s a hell of a long time but she could have been doing wants you have and just scratching an itch when needs be” “god I hope so” was all I could say. As we were approaching crescent city I told harry one of my warriors who was driving to go to the diner I could kill for one of macs burgers right now. I mindlinked the rest of the warriors about my plans and they all agreed, we got to the diner and parked outside titan was going crazy now saying our mate was close. I was nervous and excited all at the same time as we entered the diner we sat down and waited for Annie to come take our order, we all loved Annie she was part of the pack as was Doug, Mac and all the other waitresses that worked here. What I didn’t expect was to smell The most delicious scent I have ever spelt in my whole life, it smelt like coconuts and pineapple and titan was screaming MATE, MATE GO TO HER!! But I couldn’t move I was frozen to the spot I didn’t want to go to her and have her reject me that would kill me. The smell was getting closer and closer until it stopped right next to me then I heard the most beautiful voice I think I would ever hear as she said “hey guys my name is Sofia, I’ll be your waitress tonight can I take your orders?” I looked up I couldn’t take it anymore and what I saw took my breathe away she was the most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes on her dark brown hair pulled back into a ponytail, the bluest eyes I’ve ever looked into like the turquoise blue of the Caribbean Sea and beautiful plump lips that I wanted to kiss for the rest of my life, a beautiful body from what I could see under her work clothes but the I came back to those eyes and I was lost. I don’t know how long we were staring at each other but the next thing I knew Logan was calling my name and when I looked over to him I was snapped out of my trance. He made some joke about us falling hard and my beautiful mate blushed and I wanted to rip his head off for embarrassing her. She then proceeded to take our orders but she would t look at me again and practically ran to the back of the diner. This was it all my worst fears coming true my mate was going to reject me.
