MY EYES WIDENED terribly, tears rolling down endlessly as I wrapped my arms around my small body as though the act would make me invisible in the corner I was hiding in.

I whimpered as the tall, dark shadow towered over me. I wanted my dad. My dad, who had promised to take me to this park today. I wanted my mom. I wanted my brother. Where were they?
