Waiting for Her Mate

Chapter 5

It has been a week since we moved out of the house, the way mom said she wants to move out immediately I thought that maybe she wanted to go to grandma's or she might have something arranged but it was completely opposite to what I thought. She didn't want to go the grandma's saying that she will favour dad and she couldn't handle any more pain than she was already in and I understand that, she had nothing arranged but I had to make her agree to move to the packhouse. As the future Beta of the pack I had certain benefits and one of them was staying the Beta suit which is assigned to the Beta's, as the current Beta dad had refused the suit so I was able to claim it as the future Beta of the pack. Alpha and Luna have been very helpful throughout our difficult phase, news travels fast in our world especially when you have so many she-wolves ready to start gossip with anything and everything they got.

We have finished school yesterday, the entire pack was there at our graduation ceremony but mom didn't want to attend because she had to come face to face with dad and the twins. She was already hurt that they decided to part ways and reject each other as mates but what the twins said broke her heart completely. She still wouldn't tell me why they fought so much, the only answer I ever got out of her was that "A mother never differentiates in her children and I fought because I wanted everyone to get enough opportunity to prove themselves" I still don't understand what she meant by that. I had tried so much but she wouldn't talk, she has become completely silent since we moved out and keeps crying in her bed. It breaks my heart to see her like that I don't know what to do or say.

The graduation ceremony was a peaceful event and everyone was celebrating because their future Alpha and Beta, the future of the pack, the next generation has completed an important journey of their life. We have decided that we will take online courses for college once we decide what course we want to take, we wanted to take a course that would be helpful and teach us new things that would help us lead the pack well. We still had time for deciding on college courses though, I met dad and the twins at the ceremony, they were happy to see me and so was I. We had some fun together, we ate, chatted and danced together, they wanted me to forget everything and celebrate my graduation and I did just that but as soon as I returned back to the packhouse reality hit me like a train when I saw my distraught mother.

I had to do something to ease her pain, I know she misses everyone a lot and the gossip all around the packhouse was doing her no good. I didn't know what to do until I realised that I will have to take her away from the pack so she can calm down and accept the truth and start a new life. The only to do that was take her to Silver Moon pack but I had to talk with the Alpha and take permission for us to stay there, I could take up the job to train the newly shifted wolves there and that way I would not have to worry about taking care of mom. There was no other way to take mom out of her misery, she is now my responsibility and I will take care of her with this determination I walked out of my suite and made my way to the Alpha's office so I can convince him to allow me to move out of the pack with my mother. I walked up to the door of the Alpha's office and knocked the door softly, a few seconds later I heard the Alpha asking me to come in. I walked inside his office greeting him as I bowed my head a little, he smiled and nodded his head motioning for me to sit in the chair across from him and I did.

"How can I help you today young lady?" he asked with a smile on his face

"Alpha, I wanted to request you to allow me and mom to move out from Cresent Moon and join the Silver Moon pack. You already know everything that has happened and staying here is not doing any good for mom, she is extremely upset and broken, I can't let her drown in her sorrows" I said as the Alpha looked at me with a sad smile shaking his head as he began speaking

"I can't do that sweetie, you are like a daughter to me and I can't let you move out of the pack, although Silver Moon is our pack but I will not be there to keep an eye on you and the fact is you are my next in line Beta so I can't let you go because you know how things function in our pack" he said

"I understand Alpha, and if I had even a single option to help mom I would have done that but there is nothing I can do to ease her pain. We can probably have our third in command move here and I can take of the pack there with the head warrior" I said trying to reason with him

"We can't do that, if we could we would have done that earlier" he said and now I only have one option left

"Alpha, then I will have to step down from my position as the future Beta, Beta Marcus has two more daughters who are capable enough to take over as the Beta of the pack. You can choose between Eva and Celina, whoever you think is more capable you can have them as the next Beta. I am sorry that I have to do this but I will have to do something to help mom I can't let her drown in her sorrows because she is hurting a lot" I said as my eyes filled with tears

"Are you sure about that sweetie?" Alpha asked again and I nodded my head in agreement

"Yes Alpha" I replied

"Okay, I'll have your request processed as soon as I can, you can move out tomorrow. Go get ready and tell your mother about the arrangements" he said and I gave him a small smile

"Thank you Alpha, I had a request. I wanted to take over the job of training the new shifted pups in the Silver Moon pack, you know I am a good fighter because of you and dad so I wanted help the new wolves with self defence and also it would help me take care of mom" I asked with a hopeful voice

"Sure sweetie, I can't have better person for the position" he answered and my face brigthened

"Thank you Alpha" I said and he nodded his head

After our conversation, I had to do some of the paperwork for the movement which I did and once everything was done I walked out of the Alpha's office to the suite I stayed in. I saw mom sitting in her bed quietly staring at the window, I walked up to her and told her that we are moving to the Silver Moon pack, at first she was worried and when I told her that I have already spoken with the Alpha and that I have asked him to give the future Beta position to one of the twins and that I have taken a job as a trainer for the newly shifted pups in the pack she agreed, for the first time in days she let out a small smile.

We started packing all our stuff as we had to leave the next day, it took us about two hours to get everything packed and once we were done. I made dinner which was a simple steak with mash potatoes and chips, we enjoyed dinner together, after we were done with dinner we went to bed but I could barely sleep. I had already texted dad and he was not happy about the movement but I managed to convince him somehow but I was worried about the twins, I will have to meet them at school and explain everything because we didn't have the time to speak tomorrow we were leaving early in the morning and although it was literally the next pack we can't run there like a normal time, we had a lot of stuff to move so we will have to travel in our vehicle and go all the way around, it was a good eighty to ninety minute drive till the packhouse. I tried to think of all the things that I would say for the twins to make them understand the reason why we had to move out of the pack but nothing seemed good enough. I let out a sigh and pushed all the thoughts away as I slowly drifted off to sleep.
