Oscar's POV "Get on the bikes! We've gotta get outta here! I'll take the truck!" I yell to the gang members. "What's wrong, Boss?" One of the teenagers asks. "People are killing each other for no reason and the men in charge think it's in the air." I say, ushering him onto a bike. "Oh. I need to get my little sister. She's only six. I can't leave her." The boy says, frantically. "I'll get her. She'll be safer in the truck." I send them deep into the woods, telling them to go as fast as possible. I arrive at the elementary school and pick up as many members' kids and siblings as I can before heading to the woods. The members are waiting right where I sent them. Next to a car covered with a tarp. I get out of the truck, covering my face with a bandana. I try to open the hatch with the code given to me, but it won't work. I begin banging on it. "Hey! Charlie, it's Oscar! Let me and my people in! We have women and children!" I plead with the metal door on the ground. Amanda's POV "Do you hear that?" I ask my terrified sixteen year old sister. "How does he know dad?" Ashley asks. "Probably had business together. Doesn't sound professional, though." I say bluntly. "Well, open it. We can't let those kids die." Ashley says. I run into a room filled with documents, maps, and computers. The room her dad would be in right now. I grab a leather bound book with a list of people in it. "Oscar Juarez. This must be him. I think Dad gave these people codes to get in. That's why it's so much bigger than we thought." I say, in a tone I use while thinking. Oscar's POV "C'mon, Charlie." I whisper to myself. One of my people begins to snarl and his eyes are blood shot. The man bites into the shoulder of the woman next to him. A blood-curdling scream rings out through the trees. "Charlie, he's killing her! He'll get us next! Let us in!" I yell. I pull out my pistol and shoot the man just as the hatch opens. I move to grab the woman, but she's already dead. I look down at the hatch to see a young woman with wavy auburn hair standing there, holding the door. "Get in. Children first." She says in a commanding tone. I nod, opening truck doors and handing them down an assembly line of people to the hatch. She passes them to the younger girl below and they get them inside. "Hurry." I say to my people. She scans the group and sees a woman appearing to be pregnant. "Women next. But, the pregnant woman is the most important. We need her to help repopulate earth when this is over. Also, it will kill the baby faster." She helps the lady down the steps into the bunker. I hustle my people in. Women and then men. The teenage boy before myself. I climb in and lock the hatch. I do a head count before turning to the woman. "Why wasn't my code working?" I ask. "My dad never told me about you, or anyone on this list," She shows me the list. "So, I did a total lockdown like he taught me." A child begins to cough and she rushes us into decontamination. "ALL PARTIES CLEARED" The automated system announces once everyone goes through. We're all in our underwear like expected. The clothes need to be washed and gone through the same process. Or at least, that's how Charlie explained it. I look around at how uncomfortable my people are before I notice the younger girl coming back into the room with two boxes of plain grey clothing. Amanda's POV I watch the man in charge, Oscar, help his people grab clothes that fit. He is in his black boxer briefs the whole time. I can see every muscle move when he moves and his underwear don't leave very much to the imagination. He catches me staring at him when he finally pulls a grey t-shirt over his torso and slips on some sweats. He walks over to me and speaks in a hushed voice. "Like what you see?" He laughs a little. I scoff and walk towards the long corridor. The group of people follow me. I stop at the first room with four bunks and Oscar tells some of the kids to share that room. The older kids. "I need all of your names and ages so I can write them down and we have a record of everyone that's survived." I say to the kids before they get settled in. One of the teenagers approached me and introduces the other children. "I'm Jackie and I'm 16. That's my twin brother Jose. The boy over there is Max, he's 6. The toddler holding his hand is Nadine, she's 4. Our parents are out there in that mess. We aren't siblings, but we might as well be after today." She sits down. "The other four kids in this room are Tina (she's 5), her brother Luis (he's 17), Thomas (he's 10), and his older sister Mary (she's 12). Those are only 8 of the kids. We still have four younger ones that will be staying with their parents." Oscar says. "Alright, to make everyone more comfortable, siblings bunk together. Anyone without children will share a room together based on gender." I say to the group. I usher the parents with their small children into the the room across from the first one. I take down their names. Tommy, Mike, Angela, Justina, and their kids. Elena, Lilly, Poppy, and Jake. Then, the remaining women find their places in the next room and the men are across from them. I watch Oscar as he walks into the room with the other men from his group. He nods in my direction as if he's saying thank you. Once everyone is settled in, Ashley and I begin loading their clothes into the washer for them to be cleaned.
