“So, were you able to escape unscathed last night?” Regina looked at Mabel, momentarily surprised. How did she know about what happened yesterday? Colt and Mabel had never met, and Colt certainly didn’t know how close she and Mabel were. Who else could have told her?
Seeing Regina’s expression stiffen, Mabel sighed and pulled her into the car.
Once inside, Mabel explained, “Colt went to the hospital looking for you today. I don’t know if Gavin told you.”
Regina was taken aback. What would Colt be doing at the hospital? She shook her head, looking at Mabel with concern. “Did something happen?”
Mabel patted Regina’s shoulder. “Don’t worry. Mrs. Walker is fine. Colt didn’t even get into the ward.”
Regina breathed a sigh of relief, leaning back against the car seat.
