The words 'I loved ya' were still hanging in the air, and Gareth didn't know what to do with them. They were unnerving, and Gareth was thrown. He wouldn't have been more surprised right now unless Rusty also said he was a werewolf that ate nothing but kale. The quiet declaration had Gareth's mind drumming up everything they did as kids.
