“My favorite place to vacation is anyplace by the ocean.” Nina Arianda Gabriella We started at Twin Falls Maui Waterfall, on the road to Hana. I was grateful Sarah got us a private tour, at least it was less people to deal with instead of those mega bus tours, with like thirty strangers cramped in a bus. Our first stop was Wailele Farm, right outside the waterfall. We grabbed some smoothies as we began our hike. Penny links me “I’ve never seen anything so beautiful.” We crossed through streams as we hiked through the foliage. Neil and Jaxon are walking ahead with our tour guide. Sarah is next to me, reading the brochure the guide gave to us. “Gabs did you see that the Road to Hana is world famous for the natural beauty of its towering waterfalls, and unblemished landscapes. Hawaii also doesn’t have any natural predators, so we shouldn’t have to worry about coming across any other packs. At least not while we’re here. And the guide said it’s really not completely developed, especially near the rainforest. It may defiantly be a great place to come back and shift.” “I thought that was the plan? Wasn’t that the whole point of coming all the way up here? To scout and make sure this is where we could come back and shift?” As soon as the words left my mouth, I realized it sounded abrasive. “Ya, it did.” Penny links me. “Thanks Pen, make me feel more like a dick.” “Alpha, is everything ok? You seem on edge.” “Honestly, I don’t know. Ever since I’ve been away from Matt, I just feel different.” “Different how?” “I’m not sure, like a part of me was being suppressed, I feel like I can breathe easier, but I just have a sense of unease. That something is on the horizon, and I just can’t quite put my finger on it.” I notice Sarah’s eyes glaze over as she nods her head in agreement. She must be linking with her wolf Cricket. We continue walking, and the sight before me takes my breath away, I have never seen anything so beautiful. The way the water cascades down the rocks and into the large pool below, surrounded by trees, flowers, and my laughs. I giggle as Neil and Jaxon race to the top of the falls, they drop their packs, and shirts, as they dive into the water below. Jaxon comes up for air and yells, “Come on in, the waters perfect.” “Yeah, Al—” Jaxon elbows Neil in the stomach, and he sinks below the surface of the water. Neil links me an apology. I link him back, that it’s not a big deal, our guide seems to enthralled with Sarah to be noticing much. Plus, the three other people not with us, are out of ear shot. I begin to walk up the hill, between the trees, and I feel eyes on me. I turn around, and allow Penny to come forward as we scan the area. Sarah notices my body language, and send me a link, “Everything ok Gabs? “I’m not sure, I felt someone watching me. Do you see anyone?” “Is it Neil and Jaxon?” “No, and it’s not our tour guide either. I don’t know how to explain it. I haven’t caught another sent other than our group. Have you?” “No” I open our link to Jaxon and Neil, asking them the same question, but they have the same answer, that there is no one else around. Maybe I’m just jet-lagged, and need a rest. Instead of jumping off the waterfall, I walked down to the pool, and sat on the water’s edge, placing my feet in to cool down. Sarah The guide keeps asking me questions about what my plans were for the time that we are visiting, and if I’m single. “Ugh this guy is annoying me. Make him stop.” I laugh at my wolf. “Cricket, he’s just being nice. Plus he’s easy on the eyes.” “Yeah, and its freaking annoying. Tell whatever his name we’re on a double date.” “His name is Greg, and fine.” I excuse myself from Greg, and tell him that I am going to join my friends. “Cricket, did you sense another presence earlier?” “I’m not sure, there was no scent. But I do not doubt that the Alpha felt something. She is becoming stronger by the day; her intuition will continue to grow.” “I wonder what plans the Goddess has for the pair of us?” “I’m not sure, I will see if I can connect with Penny without her knowing.” “Cricket, be careful. We were told by the Goddess to be patient. We don’t want to reveal ourselves before she is ready.” “I wonder when that will be. Whenever it is, something is coming.” I walk over to where Gabby is sitting, and I plop down next to her. She looks so deep in thought; this is supposed to be vacation. “Gabs, let cool off and have some fun.” “I’m good right here Sarah, go ahead and join the guys.” I link Neil and Jaxon to see if they’ll help me get Gabby in the water. As an Alpha she is the strongest, and can easily take on the three of us, but I know my best friend, she would not do that in front of Greg and potentially expose our kind. Luckily, she is back to zoning out, taking in our environment, and doesn’t notice the three of us behind her. I grab her right arm, Jaxon grabs her left, and Neil grabs her legs. We start going toward the deeper end of the water, and we hear in Gab’s Alpha command. “Put me down.” The three of us link, and decide we’ll listen, and throw her in the deep end of the pool. Instant regret hit, as soon as she surfaced. The three of us tried to get out of her grip, when we all froze without her giving a command. Then a moment later we feel her aura extend, and she commands us not to move. “Did she?” I link Cricket back, “Ya I think she did.” “Well telekinesis is new.” Neil links to the group, “Alpha, we’re sorry. We just wanted you to bask in this gorgeous waterfall.” “Neil, if I wanted to be in the water then I would have,” Gabby said annoyed. I change the subject, “Alpha lets continue on our hike. I hear a bit down the road there’s the black sand beach.” “How about we go back to the hotel for a bit, relax by the pool, grab some drinks, and then we’ll go out to dinner. My treat?” We all agree, and tell Greg that we want to hike back down to the car. On our way down I felt Gabby go on alert. “Cricket, can you tell what’s going on with Penny and Gabriella?” “They feel like we are being watched, its eerie, to feel what they do, but I can’t sense anything. We haven’t gotten any visions; I wonder if we’re being blocked.” I contemplate Cricket’s theory, and decide it's best to communicate with the warriors. “Jaxon, Neil, be on alert, I feel like our Alpha is being watched.” I hear a “Yes beta” in unison. Maybe our trip won’t be as relaxing as I had hoped.
