Jax’s POV I was in the command shack—a glorified shed with maps and a radio—going over the new security rotations with Grizz. The Aegis boys showing up at the water plant changed everything. They were a different kind of enemy. We needed tighter rules, fewer holes. The door banged open without a knock. Tyler stood there, his face tight, eyes jumping from me to Grizz. “We need to talk,” Tyler said. “Alone.” Grizz didn’t move. He looked at me. I gave a slight nod. Grizz grunted, gathered his papers, and walked out, brushing past Tyler without a word.
