Chapter Eight.

Alpha Lucien's Pov.
I stood opposite Selena. We were still in our matching black wedding outfits. The thought of how lovely it would have been flashed back in my head. But it didn't turn out nicely because I ruined it. I got angry with myself. My emotions shifted, and my eyes darkened. I felt like a monster, just as she had confirmed earlier. I managed to act calm but my eyes didn't. I moved my hands to the back of her dress and unzipped it.
“ I'm going now, I will come back to see you “ I tried to sound calm but I know I didn't, then I stormed out while I clenched my fist angrily. I walked directly to my dark room wandering around with pain in my heart, venting my anger on anything in the room.
After a few minutes of satisfying the anger in me, I walked to the bathroom to wash Selena’s blood off my body. My heart aches more. After having my bath I linked my heart with Damien, my loyal guard.
“How is she now?” I asked him
“ I'm sorry, she lost too much blood so she didn't survive” he paused then continued. “ How will you explain to Lady Selena that we couldn't save her mother?” he asked worriedly. Guilt filled me again.
“ I don't know…” I paused then continued “What do you think she will do if I inform her? Do you think she will still stay with me?” I was confused about what to do. Damien is my loyal guard, one I can trust to share my thoughts with aside from my stepmother, Queen Mother Morgan.
“ I looked into her background and discovered her mother was her best friend, the only werewolf she loved most….. telling her about her mother’s death might make her hate you more” Damien explained.
“Tell the Chef to prepare the best meal and take it to her room now” I ordered then went silent for a while before shutting the mind link. I lay in my bed waiting for the unseen forces that always come to attack me. Tonight I intend to vent all my anger on them. Slowly the tattoo mark on my chest started to burn until it became intense, the fire haze around me increased, and I felt unseen fire burning my skin as if my flesh would peel off soon. It hurt so much that my eyes turned red. I can sense the forces are near. I shifted to my wolf form, fully prepared to take revenge for making me hurt my mate and causing her to fear me.
Their angry growl filled the room. I wasn't scared because they've always been angry for no reason but today's seems exceptional, they are more furious. I got more infuriated and growled at them.
“ I won't spare any of you !!! " You crossed your boundary today” I screamed and rushed towards the edge of the room where I heard them murmuring earlier. I slashed my claws towards the area and they attacked me immediately.
“ Alpha Lucien, we won't forgive you for what you did today, and we will make sure you pay for it ” one of them said in a cold determined voice. I scoffed.
“ I should tell you that instead, because it was you who possessed me, you made me lose control publicly. You never attacked me during the day but it's obvious you planned to disgrace me today” I laughed. You heartless creatures, for a thousand years you have been tormenting me haven't you done enough?” I said angrily as the battle didn't stop.
With heavy force I threw a punch into the air, a loud cry filled the room, yes I hit one so badly. I smiled at myself.
“ That's your reward for making me wound my mate today, you wicked creatures made me hit my mate, you destroyed my happy moments. You never want me happy, you will pay for it” I spoke furiously as I jumped in the air waving my claws forcefully in the air. Hoping to destroy them all at once. Laughter erupted behind me. “This battle can never be over, you hurt our Luna today !!! How dare you?” They screamed angrily and overshadowed me. It was tough that they hit my body badly. Yet I didn't give up.
“ Your Luna? Who is your Luna that I hurt?” I asked as I struggled to release their grip from me. With all my force I stood up and flung them at each hit their body on the wall, their painful moans filled the room.
“Ouch….. you…. you. Trust me, we will come back for you, let's go” The leader's voice sounds threatening but I didn't flinch, he has always been that way.
Everywhere became Silent, they had vanished. I lay flat on the floor, wriggling in pain as I struggled to stand on my feet. My flesh burns so much as if I were in a furnace. I managed to crawl to the fridge slowly and pack ice into the bathtub. Then lay in it, as usual it dissolved into hot water within seconds. I flushed the water and replaced it with more ice. I repeated the process until I drifted off to sleep in the bathtub. I hardly sleep in bed, I sleep in bed only once in a while and that's whenever the unseen forces decide to give me a break.
I woke up late the next day, the reflection of the sun shone in my eyes, and that was when I realised I had slept till noon. I woke up agile but my back still hurts from yesterday's battle. I remember I left Selena in the room, I haven't gone to check on her since last night. I hurriedly dressed up, applied some fragrance and walked to her room. The thought of how to break the news to her about her mother weighed down my joy to see her. I walked in gently and saw her sitting quietly, looking sad and worried. When she saw me she rushed towards me and hugged me tightly as if she had been expecting me. I froze on the spot maybe because that was the last thing I was expecting from her. Different thoughts occupied my mind, could it be she is starting to like me
