Sienna's pov
I arrived the next day on campus but noticed something off. Only few student in school while others were practically not around.
“What the hell is going on?” I pondered as I watched the few student that had strolled in stroll out.
Just then, my eyes sighted Eden. She walked towards me as fast as she could, hands resting on my shoulder.
“Oh Si, how are you doing?” she asked with raised brows and a worried expression on her face.
“Fine, but something's off today. Why's everyone just…”
She sighed shaking her head. Then she placed her hand on my shoulder.
“You aren't going to believe what I found out.”
I furrowed my brows, confusion forming on my face.
“What did you find out?” Despite being confused and scared, curiousity was what took over my expression.
“You might want to be able to sit for this one.”
I nodded, moving towards where she gestured her hand before seating.
“What is it girl, talk to me, I feel overwhelmed already. “You're acting like someone died.”
“Well, that's exactly what happened.”
I placed my hands over my lips, my hands shaking in fear. I thought everyone already found out about Lucas and I but it was something worse.
“What the hell do you mean someone died. A student?” I tried to find out but she shook her head.
“A lecturer. The one who's test you missed two days ago. Professor Lucas.”
My hands immediately covered my mouth and I felt my body shake.
“You're lying. That's not what happened, tell me it's a joke.”
She shook her head. “I wish it is, but it's not.” She was pretty blunt like she heard the news earlier and her own wave of shock had passed.
“No, you have got to be kidding me. I met him two days ago and now he's dead, how?”
She shrugged her shoulders. “That's the only info reaching us for now. We have no other information about his death but I'm sure we'll hear about it soon.”
As she spoke, I nodded but my heart could only go to one person, Elias. He told me he would handle things, I didn't expect him to go to this extent.
Did he murder someone? My breath came out in pants and I immediately started to shake. The sweat that gathered in my temples had began to roll and I took time to breath.
“Are you alright? You seem a bit too shaken.”
I nodded, exhaling again. “I am fine. Just that the news has a way of bringing bad memories, but I'm good.” I confessed, forcing a smile.
She nodded. “Come to my place today. It's been so long. Besides there's a lot of thing we need to talk about.”
“Like?” I became really cautious as well.
“What do you mean like? Aren't we friend's anymore?” She couldn't stop smiling and I shook my head.
“Is it about a new boy you totally like and have planned your future kids with?”
She pressed her lips together and nodded her head but I rolled my eyes.
Here we go again. Eden was a hopeless romantic and most times, she ended up with heartbreaks but she near learnt her lesson.
“Nope, we aren't doing that. The last time we both sat to talk about a boy you like, you ended up heartbroken the whole semester. We're not going through that process again.”
She slumped her shoulders. “But this one's different. He's cute and nice… we talk sometimes.”
I shook my head. “Sometimes isn't a good response. You need someone who's willing to understand you. You're my friend and I don't want you to get hurt.”
She exhaled, nodding her head. “He, he asked me on a date.”
I gasped “That’s great. I hope there's no reason to say no because you really seem to like him.”
She nodded. “Yeah. I will tell you about it later. For now, I've got to go prepare.”
I smiled. I really wanted to help her prepare but I needed to meet with Elias as quickly as I could. He needed to explain to me what he hell was going on.
“You sure you won't come along?” She asked but I sighed.
“You know how my dad gets. He doesn't believe I come over to your place and he gets, you know, crazy.”
She nodded, giving me a hug before smiling. “Well, maybe you'll be free in marriage. I hope your husband's someone attached to you like those ones in the books we read.”
I smiled and waved her off. Once she was gone, I took a taxi to his place. Elias had a lot of explaining to do.
What the hell did he do? I had always known him to be a calm man, but I feared the silent ones were the ones who had the ability to harm others.
As soon as the taxi stopped, I rushed out, handed him his fees and rushed back into the house. I knocked, but when I didn't get any response, I pulled out my phone to call him.
His phone rang several times but he didn't pick up, making me more worried.
“No, no, this is bad, this is really really bad…”
I ran my hands through my hair, pacing around with confusion around his face. Had he run away? The thought made my heart freeze.
If that happened, dad was never going to let me have peace. He would taunt me with that for the rest of my life and blame it all on my attitude.
I was still thinking about it when I heard a voice from behind me.
“f**k! You startled me.” I screamed, placing my hands on my chest to control my breath.
“Sorry, I didn't mean to. What are you doing here?” He asked, seeming confused. “I thought you said no more meet ups all the time.” Then he smirked. “Did you miss me?”
Was he such a sick human? He had just killed someone and he asked him if I missed him?
“Why, why did you do it?”
He raised both brows, but I crossed my hands over my chest demanding an answer.
“Why did you kill Lucas?”
