Laura's POV:
The car screeched to a halt in front of the hostel, and we all got out. Luke swept Adeline off the ground and hugged her tightly. Pressing his nose in her hair, he sniffed deeply. At that moment, my heart clenched at the memory of Xee doing the same with me.
I turned my gaze away as they indulged in a deep kiss like no one else existed in this whole world. Breaking apart, Adeline turned toward me and a small smile broke over my lips at the blush creeping up her cheeks. Kissing her forehead, Luke waved me goodbye and opened the car door. Before he could hop in, I blurted out, “Wait... Raising his eyebrow, Luke inquired, “What happened? Is everything alright?”
I took a few steps toward him, “Whatever happened today, I don't want you to tell Valentine anything about it!”
