Laura's POV:
Heavy silence thick with tension prevailed over the courtroom. Ethan's dad narrowed his eyes shining with evil, “We are all waiting for your answer, Laura Martins.” His voice sharpened, “Is it you with Dorian Smith or not?!”
I looked from one council member to the next and it was pretty clear that they were all waiting like a vulture to eat me raw. There was only one answer to their question and I knew how they would twist it. Gripping the wooden railing of the stand, I bit out, “Yes, that's true but it's only one side of the story. We are only friends.”
