Laura’s POV:
I ran to the shed near the gate, shifted, and grabbed a pair of jeans and a shirt from the drawer. Putting on the clothes, I went back to Antonio, “I am Laura.”
His teeth bared at me, “I know very well who you are. Answer my question now.”
I was running out of time. I swallowed and tried to move past him toward the door. A hand clasped around my upper arm and jerked me back, “I am expecting an explanation, girl.”
I whimpered under his hard gaze, “I need to see Valentine right now. It’s urgent. Please, let me go to him or you can tell him that I am here!” He pushed me backward and I stumbled over the stairs before landing on the ground.
