The investigation of Amy Porter by: Tabby Rogers

The day when Amy Porter went missing was January 1st, 1928. She was from a small town in Texas called Mineral Wells. She was 16 years old when she went missing. Her home life was nothing special. She lived with her mother Ivy Porter. Mrs. Porter was a drunk known to be abusive towards her daughter. As a small child, she was forced by her mother to be in acting. She also forced her to take dancing classes. Because of this, Amy hated her mother. When she was 13 she ran away. She was forced to come back to her mother by the police. Ivy hated her because she got the police involved in her life. When Amy was 15 she got a part in a play. She was supposed to play a girl who makes it big in Hollywood. The director of the play was a big shoot he had already produced to movies and only came to her little town to look for a lead. She was over the moon about the part to her it meant time away from her mother. Ivy didn't care for the man she just wanted her daughter gone so the cops would leave her alone plus all of Amy's checks went to her anyway.  Amy rehearsed every day to make sure she got good enough to stay away from her mother. The last night of rehearsals Amy was on stage with the director when Ivy burst in yelling running toward Amy swinging her hands wildly. She reaches the stage and jumps up to Amy grabs her by the neck and began to choke her till she turned blue. It took four people to pull Ivy off of Amy. Amy lay motionless on the floor while Jeff Hannagan, Mike Spenc, Jamie Ligget, and Bill Montenegro tried to get Ivy out of the building. Amy's understudy Evey Tannerling rushed to Amy to see if she was ok. Amy was still in shock, she didn't dare move for fear something else would happen. When they got Ivy out of the building they locked the doors so she couldn't get back in. They rushed back to Amy's side to make sure she was ok. Amy was sitting on the side of the stage still trying to catch her breath. Jeff Hannagan asked her if she needed anything she studdered trying to say she would be ok. All she could get out was the stutter. The director Bill Montenegro said rehearsals were done for the day and help Amy to her dressing room. Bill and Evey Help Amy get settled in her dressing room. Bill said he was going to call a Doctor and stepped out of the room. Bill went to his office to call a good doctor friend. When he was on the phone he heard a loud noise and figured Ivy had gotten back in the theatre. He quickly hung up the phone and ran to Amy's dressing room to see Evey crying and shaking. Amy was nowhere to be seen. Bill was still trying to figure out what happened and asked in a panic voice "what happened? Where is Amy? "Evey still crying just shook her head and pointed at the door. Bill's eyes widened and ran from the room toward the front door of the theatre. He grabbed one of the doors and shook it trying to get open to see that it was still locked. He ran to the back of the theatre to the service entrance to see if it was open. When he got there the door was wide open. Bill began to panic even more and stared screaming for Amy hoping she would answer. Bill still in a panic ran back to his office to phone the police when he was stopped by Ivy. She grabbed him a yelled, "where is she? You can't keep her from me!" Bill grabbed Ivy and threw her down. He stood over her and yelled, "You tell me! What did you do with her? "She looked up at him in shock and said nothing. Bill seeing this ran down the hall to his office and phoned the police. When the police got to the theater Bill had Ivy strapped to one of the stage chairs refusing to let her go. Yelling at her to tell him what she did with Amy. Saying I know you hated her! Tell me! Tell me now! Just as he was about to hit her the police burst in guns drawn. Saw what was going on and grabbed Bill before he could strike Ivy. Two officers held Bill by the arms. While one untied Ivy and helped her get out of the chair. Bill screamed out now don't do that she did something with Amy to arrest her.  Just then a detective walked in and said lets every one calm down and tell me what's going on. The detective was a tall brass man. He had a face that would scare the timidest person. He had a real don't mess with me attitude. Smoking a cigarette and scowling he looked at Bill and said tell me what you think happened. Bill jerked away from the two officers and started to explain as quickly as possible. When he finished explaining his version of events he was out of breath. While Bill tried to catch his breath Ivy butted in Now none of that is true! I did come here and I did choke her. But I have no idea what he's talking about if she is truly missing he's the one to blame. The detective gave Ivy a look that shut her up quickly. She looked at him and sat down and looked away. The detective looked at his fellow officers and told them to search the theater. The officers split and left nothing but a trail of dust. The detective looked at Bill and asked Now you said there was another young woman in the dressing room with you and Amy? Bill nodded. Well, where is she? Bill paused and said, as far as I know, she's still there. After about five minutes the other officers returned and said "Sir there is no one else here." We searched everywhere. The detective stared at his lead officer and said take them both in. Without hesitation, the officers grabbed Bill and Ivy and arrested them. They put them in separate cars and booked them both for questioning. They were held for 24 hours and then released. The cops searched for Amy for two months. She remains a missing person. It's now 20 years later and she has yet to turn up. The case has gone cold and has been passed from detective to detective. It's now my case and I intend to see it through to the finish. My name is Cassidy Willmont I have been on the force for 15 years. I have a clean record and plan to keep it that way. The theater has been open all this time run by Bill Montenegro jr. I plan to go and have a chat with him today. When I got to the theater it was quit and the doors where open. I walked in and looked around seeing if I could see anyone. There was no one in the front of the theater so I slowly made my way to the back only to hear someone screaming. So I followed the screams it was Bill jr yelling into the phone about a trunk that should have been moved from the floor. He hadn't seen me yet so I let him finish his conversation and waited in the doorway. looking at the trunk I decided to look in the trunk. To see why he was so upset about it. The drunk was old and rusted the lock wouldn't release. As I sat trying to figure out how to open it he got off the phone. He yelled at me who are you and what do you think you're doing here? I stood up and faced him My name is detective Cassidy Willmont I got handed a case today that involved this theater. His tone changed and he went quiet. He stared at me with a blank stare and mouth open. I continued the case involved a missing 16-year-old girl by the name Amy Porter. He sat back in his chair. So I kept talking now your father Bill sr said the last person to see her was a Miss Tannerling. Still, he remained quiet so I continued Amy worked here before she went missing. Do you know if your father kept any of those records? He sat in silence and then caught himself and studdered um um no-no. I have a lot of stuff in the attic your welcome to look. I stared at him for a moment and asked what's with the trunk? He answered I don't know its been in the attic for years. I was trying to get it open but couldn't. I was on the phone with the locksmith when I saw you. Oh you don't need a locksmith I'll open it I said. I got a prybar in the trunk be right back. I went outside got the prybar and came back in. I began to open it. Took me all of five minutes when the trunk flew open you were hit with a foul smell turned out someone had put a dog in the trunk years ago and hid it in the theater. Bill jr came over to the trunk with his hand on his nose and said OH MY GOD WHAT IS THAT?! I said its a dog either someone put it in there or it got in by mistake, either way, it is dead. He closed the lid to the trunk and said let me show you where the attic is. He told me to feel free to look at whatever I want. HE then asked to be excused to get rid of that trunk. I nodded in agreement. I slowly began to look around and saw a bunch of old things. Everything was tattered moth-eaten and broken. The theater had not been very popular lately and was running low on money. It was on the verge of bankruptcy. Bill jr was doing his best to run things but not very many people in this small town go to the theater anymore. There where a bunch of old posters and props. Also a box of old papers I went through them and saw some of them talked about Amy Porter and how she was missing and a  police report tucked in it. The police report was written by a Detective Emery Santon. In the report, he states that he tried several times to reach Miss Tannerling with no aval. He goes on to say that she also is missing and that no one has seen her since that night. Bill Montenegro says he has also tried to go by her apartment to find her. But found out from her landlord she didn't come home that night and he hasn't seen her. He states that Bill Montenegro Has called daily to get updates about Amy and Evey. Each time Detective Santon assured him that they where doing there best and would let him know if anything turns up. This police report is an original copy and shouldn't be here. I look at my watch and see it is after ten pm. I decide to take the whole box with me. As I bend down to pick it up I notice a ring beside the box. It is a ring of small size it has no stone and is engraved, My Love. I take the ring and put it in the box thinking maybe it was supposed to be. As I pick up the box and turn to leave I see Bill jr staring at me. I step back and look at him and ask How long you been there? He's looking at me and says I just come up I am getting ready to close are you done up here? For now, I'll be back tomorrow.  I walk towards him and he blocks the stairs. I look at him and say please move. He goes to take the box from me I pull back and say this goes with me. He still didn't move so I tell him I will have you arrested if you don't move. You are interfering with a police investigation and therefore can be held for up to 72 hours while I go over this place with a fine-tooth comb. Or you can move now and save your self the trouble. He walks back downstairs and into his office and closes the door. I take the box back to my car and leave for the night. when I get back home I go over the box and discover more police paperwork all stolen. According to the reports they found Evey Tannerling hiding in Mr.Montenegro's office two days later mumbling to herself when they got her down to the station she wouldn't talk so they put her under a doctors care in a psych ward. She was there for two months tills she could answer questions. When she was coherent enough Detective Santon questioned her with a doctor present to find that what happened that night was all planned and that she had wanted the lead role. They were only supposed to scar her into quitting. I promise I didn't want it to go so far. What happened to her? Santon asked Miss. Tannerling covered her eyes and said pick a boo I see you. Santon states in the report that she began stating peek a boo I see you until the doctor sedated her. Santon also states there was no indication she was kidn*pped. Or even an indication of a struggle. He continues that he believed she had suffered a massive mental break because of the events. The report follows with the doctor recommendations as to the lividity of the patient's statement. The report is dated November 19th, 1929. I doctor Emila Silverston suggests that Evey Tannerling is not of sound mind. She is suffering from traumatophobia. Which is excessive or disabling fear of war or physical injury. She has regressed into her self and refuses to see she is in no harm. To her, everything is dangerous and full of rage. She will never be able to rejoin society. Sincerely Dr.Emila Silverston. There is another note attached. Its a death certificate for Evey Tannerling the coroner states the cause of death is suffocation caused by smothering with a pillow or cushion. Dated November 20th, 1929. Detective Santon believes she was murdered but had no proof. In a personal note written on the death certificate, he states that he believed he was closing in on a suspect but it was all circumstantial. He also stated he was under heat from his C.O. and had to back off. I'll have to see if Santon is still in the area and have a talk. I wonder who he had as a suspect and why he thought so. Detective Santon might have been in the right direction but I need to find out what happened myself. I put everything away for the night and get ready for bed. I set my alarm for 7:30 am and turn out the light. As I lay down a gun shoot echos through the room and glass breaking I roll out of bed and hit the floor grab my shotgun and run down the hall. As I reach the door frame two more shots come through my window and hit the wall next to me. I duck into the bathroom and close the door. Only to hear my front door burst open and what sounds like an army come through it. I get in the bath tube and brace my self. I am ready for them I have an Armsel Stumer, with magnum shot I am ready. The place goes quit as the search my apartment. I listen for them waiting. Just as I hear shes not here from one and another say shes here I saw here turn the lights out. They argue back in forth in the hall right out side the bathroom. When another man shouts shut up she is here shes hiding look again! The door knob rattles and begins to slowly opening I brace myself and fire. The door stops and quit my ears are ringing I puch through and fire again and again. Till I have no more door to my bathroom. I am empty and my ears are bleeding I stager out of the tube and move towards the door. My vision blurry from being disoriented I stager and almost fall I drop the shotgun and cath myself on what was the bathroom door. I lean against the door and try to catch my breath. I slide down the wall and pass out. When I come two my sargent is standing over me yelling. Cassidy! Cassidy! Answer me Cassidy! Still woozy and not sure where I am I open my eyes. I see two people standing over me dark shadows last thing I remember I was being shoot at. I try to move but can't. When I here a voice say sit still you in a ambulance we are trying to help. I struggle a bit to no end and passout.  When I wake I am in a room with white walls curtains around my bed and dead silence. My arms are strapped to the bed I can't move. Why? How did I get her? I struggle for some time when I hear a voice that sounds familiar . I pause I can't see pass the curtains around my bed. Who is that? Where the hell am I? I try to stay quit to hear what's going on. I hear the voice say she is stable and should wake any day. There shouldn't be anymore complications. The curtain swings open with a force to make it sing. I sink into my pillow waiting to see who it is. I see my boss and a doctor. Oh thank god! I yell where am I? Get me outta here! My boss looks at me and says it is all right your in untill Aggnes hospital. You have a guard at your door and one in the room. I'll come every day untill your release and check on you. No One Can Get To You! I Promise! Calm down and hear what the doctor has to say. I look over at the doc. Ok tell me what happened? The doctor starts by telling me I blew out both ear drums and will have to be carful not to cause any more harm. He also said that he would repair some of the damage and I will have to have a stint put in on both ears to try and complete the job. You'll be in my care for a few days then physical therapy.  I came through the surgery ok.  I was released and able to go home. My boss drove me home. We talked about my case and who was looking into the shooting at my house. Agent Spellco is the lead on the shooting at your house and will keep me updated if any leads. They are still trying to figure out the identity of the men in your home. Fingure prints came back clean right now we have no leads. We rented you a hotel room at the Days Inn. I'll stay untill I can find someone to watch you tonight. I am assigning you a partner to be with you from now on You are the lead but I will not have you dead on my watch. Cassidy you hear me?  Yes sir, who is my partner? You'll meet him tomorrow. We pull up to the hotel and check in The women behind the desk is rude. She Tells us that we are her to have s*x to clean up after ourselves and hands me the key card. I grab the card and walk out of the lobby. Sarg follows and says what a lady. We get to room 405 and try to get the keycard to work. It takes four times and some force to get the card to work. We get the door open and head in the room to find that the bed isn't made the room has trash on the floor and what looks like vomit in the corner of the room. My sarg being the man that he is heads to the phone and calls the front desk. Some one on the other end of the phone says what is it? He gets a strong tone in his voice and says this is sargent Tony Stevens I demand a explanation to why this room is the mess that it is and to send someone to clean it. The voice on the other end says I don't care if your sargent pepper I am not doing anything and hangs up. Sarg slams the phone down and heads out the room. I stand there waiting to see what happens next. A few minutes go by and I start to hear lots of screaming getting closer to my direction. I look to see what's going on it's the sarg, coming back to the room dragging the women from the front desk. He yelling at her telling her if you don't like your job quit but if you don't do your job right this minute i'll arrest you! He brings her to the room by her shirt and holds her in the door way. In a stern voice he says, do you see this room? It's rented to one of my finest officers and I would very much want to see it held up to that standard.  He lets her go and she begins to try and hit him and tell him hes a jerk. He stares at her and she stops and looks at the room. Then back at the sarg and me I'll clean the room. As she begins to clean the room we begin to talk amoungst ourselves about the case I am on. He tells me that if the threat to my life gets worse that he will take me off the case. We talk for what seems like thirty minutes before we get interrupted by the woman cleaning my room I'm finished she says. We turn and look at her and she walks off. We shrugged and walk in to the room. Sarge stays with me till almost midnight until my guard detail comes on. The next day I meet my new partner. He's a tall lanky man with a pointed chin and a high pitched voice. I think to my self they sent me a child. He hasn't even hit puberty yet. He introduces himself in a high tone Hi my name is Devin Thomas. I'll be by your side the rest of this case I am so excited. Well Devin I'm Cassidy I'll be dreading the rest of this case. Peg pardon? He ask. I shake my head and get in the car to head into work. He gets in the passenger side and buckles up. He talks the whole way there. He tells me how grateful he is and how this is his first offical case. Also that he's willing to learn and follow orders. When we get to the station we are greeted by Sarge. He dosen't look happy he looks at me and says We have a break in your case we now who ordered the hit on you and we think it has to do with the case your working. We haven't put it together yet but we will. Until then keep working the case like normal and keep him with you at all times. I look at Devin and sigh we all walk in to the station and head to the Sarges office. He slames his office door and tells us to sit down and get comfortable. He walks to his side of the desk and picks up two files and hands one to me and one to Devin. He starts to tell us about what's in the files. He tells us the man they have pined for the shooting at my house is a man worth millions in the crime world who goes by the name Mr. Belagosi. Nothing happens with out his say so that includes the hit on you. Now heres how we think it has something to do with the case you are working. When your girl went missing he was a small time hood he did jobs instead of ordered them we think she was one of his jobs. We can't prove any of this yet but we are working on it. You and Devin keep look for Amy she is your bet lead. Devin ask What makes you think she's are best Sarge? She's been missing for almost twenty-one years Sarge what clues do we hope to find? Sarge looks at me and says well there are no dumb questions only dumb people lets just get you out there and you can figure it out as you go. I get up to leave and Devin stays sitting down Sarge looks at him and says that means you too son. He jumps up and follow's me out to the car. We get in and he is silent this time I guess Sarge hurt his felling. I head back to the theater where I got my best lead. We get to the theater and see that there is a foreign the building We call it in to the fire department. We head inside to see the owner Bill jr laying on the floor unconscious. We run to his side and pull him from the building. When we get him clear Devin runs back in the building to look for more people I stay with Bill jr and wait for a ambulance. It seems like forever before Devin comes back to my side. He's a bit out of breath and covered in soot but he didn't find any one else. The fire department shows up and puts the fire out but not before the building is completely destroyed. Bill jr gets rushed to the hospital. He is rushed into surgery for a Intracerebral hemorrhage. He was in the surgery for nine hours but comes through. When the arson investigation starts me and Devin go to help out. Since we where first on scene it became our case. The arson investigator believed it was set with gasoline or another fire accelerant. He say's,If you look here on the ground you can see almost where they poured the accelerate and what path they followed. It looks like the biggest poor spot was here in the doorway of what was the owners office. If you look at these floor plans on the theater you'll see the lay out was standard for a theater only it says here that under the stairs was a hidden room. But if you look at where the stairs where all you see are stairs. It will take a few hours to clean the area but if there is a room we will find it. The arson investigators and the fire department finish the initial exam of the theater they begin to remove debri from the area. It takes less then one hour to remove all the debri. Sure enough when we get the remainder of the stairs moved there is a secret room. It's latched shut from the outside and welded because of the fire. We have to bring in a arc welder to open it. When we get it open we see bones looking up at us. the fingers look weorn down as if the person had tried to claw there way out. The space itself looks oly three foot by three foot maybe smaller the person was forced in to this space or got in by them self and couldn't get back out. On the top of the skull looks like there is a fracture. Won't now if new or old till we get it to a pathologist The fire department has to cut the hole to get the body out. When we remove the body we see that it was sitting on some papers that seem to be old and tattered. They are brittle and delicut to touch. We scoop them out with a shovel and put them in a bucket to give to the lab. It's a given it's a arson job but the who and why are a need to know and the only way to find that out is to see this to the finish. It takes the pathologist two weeks to get back with us about the body. Doctor Angela Price forensic pathologist states the body is that of a 16 year old girl. Who had suffered a lot of physical abuse at the hands of one or multiple assailants. The fingures where badly wore down and had multiple fractures also the hands where broken in two places.  Causing a distal radius fracture. Her legs had many multiple fractures both big and small causing them to splinter. It would have been painful to stand or even walk. The feet them selves where broken at the ankle. The fracture on the skull was fresh and there for not the cause of death. The cause of death is undetermined according to my findings. For further questions please contact me directly at 940}555-1234 Thank you Dr.price. I run into my Sarge's office and tell him I found Amy Porter. She was the skeletal remains at the theater. She was there the whole time sir with your permission I would like to question Bill jr about this. Negative Cassidy he's in a coma and with what you are telling me he couldn't have known. Bill sr is still alive start asking questions in his direction. See what you can dig up. Devin surprised by how quickly things are going just follows my lead. We take everything we have to Judge Donna Jameson. She reviewed the file and gives us a warrant to search Bill sr residence and Bill jr's. Bill sr lives on the outskirts of town on a small farm. He is surrounded by trees and a river bed. We take with us a good amount of force swat and back up of forty good men and women. Devin and I lead a team and surround the house. The remainder of the team surround the yard. Guns drawn we yell out Bill Montenegro sr We have you surrounded come out with your hands up! No answer from the house. I disperse a three man team to check the house for movement. They get to the door and us the halligan bar on the door to gain entry. One man throws a flash bang in the house to stun anyone hiding. After the flash bang ignites they make entry into the house. Checking room by room yelling out to each other if the rooms are clear. They yell out that they found two people hiding in a up stairs bathroom and they are bringing them out. After we clear the house we get the two suspects found in custody and take them in for questioning. As a group of four take each one in separate cars we begin to head for the barn. The same three man team begin to head into the barn when suddenly there is a explosion. Two officers are down and one is dead. We quickly surround the barn and open fire. As we rain down a barrage of fire two more explosions go off. That set the barn on fire and make a big hole on one side. I motion to Devin to go around one side and I'll take the other and maybe we can pin him in. Explosions keep going off around the barn and I move in I go in through the hole and see Bill sr standing on the cat walk holding a mac 10 with a extended clip and throwing grenades as quickly as he can pull the pin. I take aim and yell in his direction I will shoot if you don't stop and put your hands up! He trows a grenade in my direction. I have but mire seconds to make a choice him or me I fire my weapon and jump out of the way of the grenade. A loud explosion and my ears are ringing and hurt my vision blurry I try to see what's happening around me every thing seems to be jumping all over the place. My ears hurt and I can barely stand. Devin clears the scene and gets what's left of the suspect in to a ambulance to be sent to the pathologist for a autopsies. I get my bearings and tell Devin he's been a great help. Sargent Tony showed up and tells us that's it case close we can go home. I am glad this case is over. Devin will remain my partner. I head to the hospital to get checked out. It's been ten long years since The Amy Porter investigation. I am a long time veteran of the force. I am a lead detective, I run a  squad of up incoming detectives.  I still have my partner he's still making me look good. Devin is still a noob in so many ways. You catch him some times trying to remember what to do next. I am still working on missing persons both old and new. I've got this new case that has me scratching my head. The woman missing is twenty-three-year-old Melisa Carter.  No relatives to speak of. Moved to town two years ago. Brought with her two dogs and a cat. Neighbors reported her missing on Thursday morning.  Noticed the front door open and dogs outside. Neighbor Kathrin Martin said the dogs never came out without her.  She even leach trained the cat. She was a quiet person Kathrin Martin said she kept to herself, She has no boyfriends, never talked about her past in the two years she lived here. To see the dogs out without her I knew something was wrong. I called the police right away She continued to say. The officer on the scene was quoted as saying things in the house seemed to still be in there place and only the bedroom looked out of place. The sheets and blankets were gone from the bed. She has no pictures anywhere in the house. No cat was found. The dogs will be sent to the local vet to get checked out. In searching the house we found no signs of a struggle. We searched around the neighborhood to see if anyone heard anything and one lady said about one-thirty a.m. she heard a scream and a car speed away. The woman said the car was a green four-door car but the windows were too dark to see who was driving. The officers searched the surrounding area for any clues. The search turned up nothing. The forensic team was called to the scene to see what they might turn up in the house. By the time Devin and I got the call, they had found specks of blood in the bedroom and blood on the bed. The forensic team gave a full report before leaving the scene. The lead forensic investigator stayed behind to help in any way she could. Elisabeth Johnson Is the youngest in her filed to have been placed with our department. She is very good at her job and her team is the best in the state. Able to find the smallest trace of blood or fiber. When looking over the bedroom we got a sense of what took place and figured someone wasn't too happy she was home. Although how they got past the dogs is beyond me. Elisabeth tells us by the way the blood spatter is on the wall it's likely she was hit while she was sleeping with a fist or a small club. It's as if the dogs knew who the person was that did this. They had enough time to walk in strick her and walk out with her in tow unharmed. I'll ask the vet for a tox screen on the dogs. Well see if the dogs might have been drugged it is unlikely but who knows. To get a good idea as to how the scene in the bedroom played out, we had a tech string it.  Stringing a scene entails finding the starting point to every blood spot in the room. Finding the point of origin is harder then it sounds we believe she was in bed when she was hit this is the only way to be sure. It took some time but we figured out she was in bed when she first got hit. What we didn't figure is she tried to run from the person hitting her. The first initial hit woke her and when they went for the second you can see she was moving. By the way, the blood splatter moves up and away. Then all together disappears. The back door was it open? Or the front? The front was open and the dogs were in the yard. Why? She ran outside and they finished out there. That's why there is very little forensic evidence in the house.IF you find her let me know, she says as she walks to her car and leaves. Devin looks at me and ask, do we wait for the dogs to tell us what happened or do we continue? We continue, we'll see what happenes.  When we get the dogs tox's screen back and what ever else they find on the dogs. We'll see if it matches what we find. Now where is the neighbor who said she heard a scream? She lives at 1303 N. bleeker st. back behind her house. She states the scream was blood curdling. That it woke her from her sleep. She states that when she woke she looked at the clock and it read One-thirty am. She also states she jumped from her bed to the window and looked outside to see a woman being shoved into a green car. She says the alley is well lit and she could see the car clearly. But that the person doing the shoving was hiding his face and got in the back of the car with the woman. She was unable to see the driver the windows where to dark to see through. When the woman and the man got in the car she let out one more scream and the car sped away. Devin lets go look at the ally maybe there is a few clues there. We walk behind the house and through the back yard to the ally to the see if there are any cluse I have Devin go down one way and I go down the other. We search for One hour looking on the ground and through the trash cans in dumpsters. We find alot that could be linked to the night in questions. We take are finds to the forensic lab and wait for the out come. I get Devin to start the paper work on this and I  look into the dogs and see what Elisabeth has found. Elisabeth tells me the dog's had no druges in there systems. They had blood on there paws but not enough to leave a trail just on the nails as if some one paited there nails with specks of blood. Until we find the victum we have no idea who the blood belongs to.   Elisabeth goes on to tell me that the dogs had traces of raw meat in their stomaches from a stake. They may have been bribed to ignore the happenings in the room. As too where the cat went we may never know. Or if there ever was a cat. She may have only had the dogs. We got a video of the Green car that took her. Thanks to the drug store on the corner of that ally she was taken from. The car is a green four-door Plymouth licenses number Tl4*843 the car was reported stolen three days before the k********g. So no clues there, However, if you find the car we might get a hint as to who has her. Devin and I go back to the house to see what we can find. Devin takes the bedroom and I take the yard. Maybe we missed something. It's 10:30 pm and there are no lights on in the neighboring houses. So we try to keep quiet as not to wake someone. I am minding my business searching the yard with a flashlight. When I hear a car engine rev upturn and see a green four-door Plymouth pointed straight at me with the headlights off. The engine is loud so loud it brings Devin from the house. The tires are squealing and smoking on the road. I pull out my gun and yell get out of the car you are under arrest. As soon as I finish my sentence the car turns on the high beams and lets go of the break and heads straight for Devin and me. I fire two rounds into the windshield and the car turns towards the road once more and disappears into the dark. I am sure I hit who ever was driving and quickly call out on the radio to dispatch and tell Devin to drive while I tell dispatch what's happening. We hope in the squad car and chase after the Plymouth. Dispatch! Dispatch! This is Cassidy come in we are chasing after the green Plymouth Licenses # TL4*843 The Driver has been shot by my I discharged two shots! Dispatch do you copy? Cassidy this is dispatch we copy! What is your location? We are driving down 4th street headed to Belco drive. He's trying to lose us! Devin stay with him! Take whatever steps you need to catch him! Dispatch we just turned on Belco drive headed north to main street! Cassidy, This is Sargent Tony come in. Go ahead, Sarge. We are sending back up your way to keep those directions coming we will get to you as fast as possible. You got it Sarg! Dispatch we are head to main street he may be hit he might not. He's weaving all over the road he just a parked car. Devin nows your chance pit him! Devin hits the gas and rams him he goes up on two wheels and the car lands on its side and skids for a block scrapping the road and the car. Devin stays on him until he can pin him from running from the car. Devin pushes him into a telephone pole and makes sure he can't escape. He puts the car in park and we jump out and surround the car guns drawn. The back up that sarge sent shows and surrounds the car with Devin and me. The windshield is smashed and no one can see who was driving. Devin smashes the windshiled and goes to pull the perp from the car when no one was in the driver's seat. Or in the car period. The car is empty. Devin and I are stunned there was no way anyone could have got out of the car without us seeing them. We stand there having a breakdown and wondering how they could have got away. We looked through the whole car even the trunk. We had the car sent to the forensic lab. He heads to the squad room to face the consequences of letting the perp getaway. Sarge is pissed He calls a squad room meeting and goes over everything that happened and everything we did wrong.
