Chapter 3: "A Glimpse of the Past" As they hugged, Lyra felt a rush of memories. She remembered the way Julian used to make her laugh, the way he'd protect her from her parents' wrath, and the way he'd look at her with a hint of something more. But that was all in the past. Now, Julian's eyes seemed to hold a different kind of intensity, a burning fire that made Lyra's heart skip a beat. They pulled back, and Lyra introduced Julian to Sophia. As they chatted, Lyra couldn't help but notice the way Julian's eyes kept drifting back to her, as if searching for something. "Sophia, can I steal Lyra for a minute?" Julian asked, his voice low and husky. Sophia nodded, and Lyra followed Julian outside, her heart racing with anticipation. They walked in silence, the city lights casting shadows on the ground. Lyra felt like she was walking back in time, the past and present colliding. "Lyra, I need to ask you something," Julian said, his voice breaking the silence. Lyra's heart skipped a beat. "What is it?" "Do you remember the night my family died?" Julian's eyes locked onto hers, his gaze piercing. Lyra's world went dark. She had never forgotten that night, the night that had changed everything. "Yes," she whispered. Julian's eyes seemed to bore into her soul. "I think it's time we talked about what really happened."
