Matthew’s p.o.v.
“Absolutely not”, I pulled back as I heard her whisper the name in my ear. As if…
“Oh come, why not?” Sophia whined, giving me big eyes but Sarah response made me roll my eyes “Matthew doesn’t allow me to date, that’s why”
“Damn”, I heard Jason mutter, Blake shaking her head at me. Did they seriously already forget what happened? Why can’t they understand I’m doing this to protect her?
“What about dates in public?” Sophia questioned and I rubbed my face in my hands. Enough of this s**t.
“You want to go on a date that bad? Fine, but only on my f*****g terms”, I throw at Sarah and she huffs, crossing her arms over her chest “Do I even want to f*****g know what those are?”
“It’s a take it or leave it situation Sarah, choose wisely” she rolled her eyes at me before standing up “Guess I’ll just become a nun then”
She angrily stomped away to the couch opposite of me and I sighed loudly. I knew this frustrated her but I’m simply not taking that risk again. She needed to understand that.
“Why don’t we just make a little bet out of this?” Sophia spoke again.
“And the loser doesn’t get to date or hookup for these whole two months”, Oliver added excitingly and a huge grin started forming on Sarah’s face “I’m listening”
Oh no…
“Let’s say you both get to pick three partners for the other and you have to go out with all of them at least once”, Sophia explained
“Then you have to choose one of them and the first one to back out of the dates, gets the punishment”, she finished proudly.
“Absolutely not”
“Come on, why not? It’s a good idea”, Sophia pouted at me and I sighed “Because she’ll set me up with the worst dates possible”
And judging from the smirk on Sarah’s face, I was right.
“Okay, so you both get to choose a person that has to agree to the dates”, Sophia started smiling again and I shook my head “Still no”
This is stupid. What are we, twelve?
“Scared you’ll lose, dear brother”, Sarah wiggled her brows at me and my eyes narrowed at her.
“Sounds like a fair bet to me” I turned to Jason and glare at him. This d**k is supposed to be on my side…
“Come one Matthew, don’t be a p***y”, my glare switched from Jason back to Sarah and I groaned. She knows exactly where to push, doesn’t she? Fine, game on sis.
“You know what, fine”, I leaned back before I gazed over at Sophia “But Daniel has to agree on the girls you choose”
“Deal, Sarah who do you want?” Sophia asked to which Sarah pointed beside her “I choose Blake”
“This is going to be exciting”, Blake commented but my eyes darted behind her.
“Look who’s back”, Oliver seemed to have noticed as well. Ella and Daniel walked our way, their hands intertwined with each other’s, and I couldn’t help but smile at them “You two lovebirds done already?”
“Piss off dude”, Daniel’s eyes narrowed at me his smile didn’t even falter one bit. Ella helped him sit down and he pulled her down, a playful expression on his face as he hugged her into his side. It was the look in their eyes though that had all of us beaming at them.
They looked happy…
“So what were you guys talking about”, Ella asked and I rolled my eyes as Ethan answered “The twins made a bet and now they get to choose dates for each other”
Ella’s eyes widened slightly and a big smile started working on her lips “Oh my god, who?”
“Well, I gave Matthew a good suggestion but he didn’t agree”, Sophia chirped and Ella leaned closer to her. I really don’t see why Sophia would think he is a good option for Sarah, not that I would allow it anyway.
“Can I know too now?” Sarah asked impatiently, pouting when Sophia shook her head before she leaned next to Ella’s ear. I sighed and leaned my elbows on my legs, watching the two girls.
A satisfied grin came to my face as Ella pulled back, her lips slightly pursed and her eyes narrowed.
“Thank you”, I leaned back again. Glad I wasn’t the only one to se-
“Actually” Oh no
“I could totally see that”, Ella spoke again and the smile was quickly wiped from my face “Not you too”
She gave me a sympathetic smile “Sorry Matthew”
Alright, these people have officially lost their mind.
Running a hand through my hair, I pushed myself out of the couch “I need a drink”
I slipped away from the group and sat down at the bar, waiting for the bartender to bring my beer.
I shouldn’t have said yes to that bet in the first place… I swear to god, if Sarah thinks she can go all wild and crazy from now one then she’s in for a rude awakening.
“You know you can relax every once in a while, right?” I turned my head, Ella sitting down on the stool beside me.
“I can’t, you know what happened last time”
“We’re all watching her like hawks and she even told me herself she feels much safer when she’s with the group so you can let go a little, Matthew”, she told me and I sighed. Okay, so maybe I could let go a little. Just a little though…
I gazed back up at her as I heard her chuckle, my head slightly tilting to the side.
“What?” I asked her.
“You’re so losing that bet” I shortly turned to the bartender, giving her a wink as she put down my drink
“And why’s that?” I turned back to my friend and watched her grin grew bigger “That’s why”
She motioned her head towards the hot bartender and I scoffed slightly “Oh come on, I flirt with every female but that doesn’t mean I won’t win”
“You never flirted with me” Of course I didn’t…
“Because Daniel had his eyes on you from the very beginning and that doesn’t happen a lot so I nicely backed off”, I told her and this time it was her turn to scoff.
“So if it were different, you would have?”
“Hell yeah”, I answered truthfully. Right now, she might be like a little sister to me but there is no denying Ella’s a super pretty girl with an even better personality. Of course I would have tried with her.
She laughed and took the beer from my hand, taking a big sip from it before looking back at me “You’re an i***t”
I let out a laugh of my own and took my drink back, winking at her “I know”
