Matthew’s p.o.v.
“You guys it’s time, let’s go”, I excitingly threw my arms around the two as they gave me a surprised look. What the hell are the waiting for? We’re graduating for christ’s sake, we’re finally done with this place.
I quickly moved around the bench and pulled them to their feet, pushing them towards the seating area.
It didn’t take long before all the student were seated on their assigned seats and the principal started talking through the mic. Well, I’m definitely not gonna miss that old bastard…
I quickly turned to Sarah next to me and raised a brow at her, expecting her to understand what I meant.
“Don’t worry, you’re safe”, she whispered to me with an amused expression, slightly shaking her head.
“Thanks sis”, I softly bumped by shoulder against hers and she mumbled a low ‘you’re welcome’ just as the principal started calling the first names.
We patiently watched as the first students were called to the stage one per one until the first of my friends got called.
“Oliver Campbell”, I proudly watched as he got up and a big smile came to my face as I found Ella standing up as well, helping the injured Oliver walk to the stage. She’s a good one, our Ella. Daniel’s one lucky bastard to have someone like her. Not saying that out of jealousy cause I pretty much see her as a sister, I’m just stating the facts.
I turned to Daniel as Ella helped Oliver on the stage and his face held so many emotions. He looked proud yet jealous, completely mesmerized by her but sad at the same time. Long story short, the guy was still hopelessly in love with her and even a blind person could see it…
“Ella Clark”, her name got called and she hesitantly walked on the stage, her cheeks coloring red as she did. I watched Daniel again but this time there was a big smile playing on his lips as he watched her. Yup, he’s totally whipped.
This continued for about an hour, all of us going up and getting the paper thingy, and then the moment the principal stepped away from the mic everyone started cheering and applauding loudly. We f*****g graduated bitchesss.
“We did it man”, I stepped up to Daniel and his family and threw my arms tiredly around his neck as he sat in his little wheelchair. When I had to pick them up this morning, I was completely exhausted. Let’s just say I didn’t get much sleep at Erica’s…
I yawned loudly and Daniel chuckled, speaking low as he turned the wheelchair my way “Maybe if you weren’t such a s*x addict you would have gotten some sleep”
Jacob and I both laughed at that, his mother luckily didn’t hear as she was too busy watching the people passing by.
“Don’t be jealous Daniel, not all of us can be this handsome and attractive”, I teased him and was surprised as a genuine smile came to his face. We didn’t get to see those a lot these days…
“Jealous of you? That has to be a joke”
I smiled brightly at him and annoyingly pointed a finger in his face as I spoke “Nope, it’s written all over your whinny face”
“There we go”, I heard Jacob comment lowly but I was too focused on getting my friend to forget his ex for a moment. I wanted my grumpy yet happy friend back.
“Is it now?” he spoke with his gaze slightly narrowed, the amusement clearly playing on his face.
“Yup, you’re being a whinny little b***h”, he darkly chuckled at that and I already started slowly backing up as I saw his hands slowly get to the sides of his wheelchair “You wanna see what this whinny little b***h can do?”
“Yeah so come at me bro”, and that was all it took for me to start running and him to follow me. It must have been a funny sight to see him going after me in the wheelchair but we never really cared about what others thought anyway. We didn’t get far however as Blake stopped us when we passed some of the group, telling us we were being ‘irresponsible’. Whatever…
Daniel, Blake, Oliver, Jason, Eric and I all stayed there, talking for a while until I couldn’t keep my eyes open anymore and by the time the third person made a comment like ‘Seems like you had a wild night’, I decided to bail. I had told them all goodbye and went straight home, falling asleep the moment my body hit the couch.
I don’t know for how long my nap lasted but I loudly groaned as I felt someone softly shake me awake.
“Matthew honey, your dad and I are going out okay?” my mothers voice sounded softly next to my ear and I nodded, not even lifting my head from the pillow.
“There’s still some food from earlier in the fridge if you get hungry”, she said and as if on cue my stomach started to rumble. I tiredly pushed myself to sit up and noticed it was already completely dark out.
My mother chuckled as she looked at me before she grabbed her purse and put on her coat “Don’t forget to lock the doors when Sarah gets home”
My eyebrows quickly scrunched together as I gave my mother a confused look “Sarah’s not home?”
“No, she said she was just going out for a drink with the girls”, she said and I stopped myself from rolling my eyes. Ever since all the stuff that had happened with Ella’s ex, she knew I hated it when they went out with just the girls. I told her it’s dangerous, certainly at night but does she ever listen to me? No, she f*****g doesn’t…
“Bye honey”, my mom called out and I quickly responded as I grabbed my phone from my pocket “Bye mom”
I unlocked my phone and glare came to my face as I read the name of the building on the map. A club… Of course she had to f*****g go to a club…
-Hey Morris, are you and the girls with Sarah? –
I typed a message to Sophia and angrily clutched my phone as I read her reply.
-No, I’m with Ella at her place. Everything alright tho?- Sophia
So far for ‘just going out for a drink with the girls’. I just f*****g knew it…
I didn’t even bother responding and grabbed my keys from the table where I had thrown them earlier before quickly storming out of the house.
I drove like a mad man as all the scenarios played in my mind. I swear to f*****g god, if I find her half naked dancing on someone’s lap there’s nothing that could hold me back from killing the guy first, and then her.
Fuck, just calm down Matthew. She’s not like that… Can I be sure of that though? f**k…
I’m just happy that I secretly installed this app on her phone so that I could always trace her location. Yeah, yeah, call me overprotective but I know that there are a lot of filthy bastards out there and there’s not a f*****g chance I’ll ever let my little sister get close to them.
I abruptly drove my car into one of the parking spots at the club and angrily slammed the door behind me.
I recognized a lot of the people as I got in, a few greeting me as I just continued to look for her.
“Matthew, nice to see you here man”, I turned as I recognized that voice and found Oliver sitting alone in one of the booths. Maybe she was with him before?
“What are you doing here alone?” I asked with a raised brow as I plopped myself down on the other side. Just two minutes…
“Eric should be here in about ten minutes”, I nodded in understanding, him shortly after continuing “And I was keeping a close eye on that one”
I followed his gaze and found non other than the little she-devil herself, talking with a male. I made a move to get up but Oliver placed a hand on my shoulder, preventing me from doing so “Calm down man, they’ve just been talking”
Yeah and I hope for her sake that that’s the farthest it goes.
“Why didn’t you call me or something?” I asked annoyed as my eyes stayed glued on her as she drunkenly giggled at something he said. Great, she’s shitfaced.
“Because like I said, I was keeping an eye on her and you would throw a fit anyway”, that made me shortly direct my glare back to my friend before it went back to Sarah “And secondly because my phone died before she even got in here”
I just nodded taking his beer from his grip and taking a sip. I studied the guy as he sweetly smiled at her. I didn’t trust him one bit.
“Who’s that guy anyway?” my eyes quickly racked him up and down and I shook my head. Something felt so off about him, I couldn’t even explain it.
“Collin”, Oliver answered, taking the beer back from me “Never really spoken to him but I know who he is”
I nodded again and tightly clutched my fist as the guy tucked some hair away from her face. He better keeps his fitly hands to himself because the next time he touches her, Imma wack his head off.
“Has Daniel spoken to you about the whole Ella thing?” Oliver asked as if he noticed I needed the distraction and I shook my head. If that Collin guy tries to reach out to her one more f*****g time, imma kill him.
“No but I heard him say he missed her when he was calling with his mother”, I answered finally, switching my gaze back to him. I couldn’t watch this anymore.
“It’s so stupid, can’t they just bang and make up already?” Oliver joked and I chuckled, slowly shaking my head “I totally agree with that”
“Yeah, they should definitely just bang”, I turned and found Eric stepping up, taking a seat next to Oliver, a laidback smile on his face. You can say what you want about male brain logic but you can’t deny it’s efficiency.
“My guy, glad you still made it”, Oliver padded Eric shoulder “Of course, Grace and I are leaving tomorrow”
“Well, I’m happy we still got to see you then”, I smiled at him before Oliver spoke up again “We still have to do something with Daniel and Ella, I mean we can’t really force them to bang”
I slightly shook me head again, Eric doing the same as Oliver spoke in complete seriousness. No you dumbhead, we can’t really force them to bang.
“Don’t worry, the girls are already working on somet-“ I stopped as my eyes darted back to Sarah, or better to where she had been sitting.
She was gone.
And so was f*****g Collin.
“Hey, calm down we’ll find her”, Oliver tried to calm me down but I was two seconds away from trashing this place. Where the f**k did he take my sister? Imma kill him if he touches her, I swear to god.
“I’ll go outside, why don’t you and Eric search inside”, he proposed and I took no time getting up and pushing myself through the crowd of people.
I didn’t care about pushing people aside, all I could think about right now was finding Sarah and drag her back home to lock her in her room forever. Jup, I was putting her on house arrest. That’s what you get for lying.
I checked all the secluded little areas upstairs but still didn’t find anything. I asked some of the people I knew but didn’t get anything. I ran around this place about ten times but still f*****g nothing.
“You found anything?” I hadn’t even noticed Eric as he had come up to me and I angrily shook my head. Where the f**k are you Sarah? I’m close to f*****g losing my mind…
I was about to start screaming her name when I felt my phone ring in my pocket.
I grabbed it and quickly answered as I saw Oliver’s name flashing on the screen “Oliver? Where is she?”
“Come outside, I’m with her”, I heard commotion coming from the other line and I sprinted my way out of the building. She’ll be okay, she’ll be okay. I kept repeating that as crossed the parking, Eric following close behind me.
It didn’t take long for me to find them as some people were gathered somewhere on the parking lot.
Pushing them aside, my eyes quickly found my little sister tightly secured into Oliver’s arms as he leaned against my car.
“What the f**k happened?” I yelled, not paying attention to Eric as he told the people behind us to mind their own f*****g business.
“I came out and I saw him pushing her into his car. I pulled the fucker off of her and got her out but he drove off before I could get to him”, he explained and I tightly balled my hand into fist. Maybe it’s for the best he wasn’t here anymore, I don’t know what I would have done to him.
“What the hell Sarah, how could this even happen?” I yelled at her but she seemed so out of it, I closed my eyes for a few seconds to calm down. She didn’t even look at me as she just groggily stayed into Oliver’s arms. How f*****g drunk did she get? I don’t even want to know what he would have done to her like this…
“Why did you have to drink so f*****g much?” I spoke, trying to keep myself from yelling but was even the point of trying to hide it. I was beyond angry right now.
“That’s the thing Matthew, I watched her and she only had one glass of wine”, Oliver’s words slowly seeped in and if a human could explode from anger, I would be in a million pieces by now.
“He f*****g spiked her drink”, I softly mumbled to myself and harshly hit my fist against the side of my car. Leaning my two hands against it the side, I closed my eyes and took deep breaths. How could I let this happen? She’s my f*****g sister and I let this happen.
“Calm down Matthew, I think it’s best if we get you guys home”, I felt Eric calmly place a hand on my shoulder and I slowly pushed myself straight again. I nodded and walked over to Oliver, taking Sarah carefully from his arms.
“I’ll drive”, Eric proposed and I walked to the backseat, gently laying Sarah down before sitting down next to her and resting her head in my lap. For f***s sake Sarah, how could this happen…
I gently caressed her hair and placed a kiss down on her cheek as I already felt her sound asleep. At least she was safe now… I don’t even want to think about what he would have done to her.
I moved from her cheek to her ear and softly whispered as she laid there peacefully “I love you little sister but I’m not allowing you to be alone in the presence of male ever again”
I straightened back up and closed my eyes as I said the last part in my head “And that’s a promise”
