                    In his private chambers, Lord Takeo Matsuda was busy readying his wardrobe. The layers of black, white and royal blue robes were spread out on a series of free-standing wooden clothes hangers. They gently billowed in the dressing room like pale silken clouds or mist. On a low wooden shelf to his right, his black ceremonial headgear was on its stand, ready to be placed upon his head and fastened by an elaborate series of decorative knots. His pages will be appearing soon to help him get dressed into all of his ceremonial garments.                       But before that, he had his usual morning cup of tea.
