Noah allowed a laugh. “That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. They are powerful and important, I’m just a small cog. I have nothing.”
But Noah was beginning to wonder if Parker had secretly been investigating him all these weeks. What had he uncovered? Was Noah’s agenda about to be exposed, or kept secret between them in exchange for s****l favors? Did he call Parker’s bluff, and if so, what if it wasn’t one? Would that bring him ruin, shame? His own victim, because of all the lies he’d told?
Parker released his hold on Noah, but that didn’t mean he was ready to allow Noah to return to the party. His hand slid down against the bulge in his pants, Noah’s eyes following down that furry trail, fearful of what Parker was about to ask of him.
He wouldn’t. Not here, and not now.
