Darius’s POV:
“Follow me,” I ordered before I did something reckless like kiss her. I strode out of the cold, damp cell, and to my relief, she followed obediently. Still, I could feel her defiance in the way she glared at my back as if challenging me to punish her for it. Oh, how I wish I could, but if I gave myself even a taste of her, I knew I wouldn’t be able to stop.
We reached my office without meeting a guard since they were probably still searching for the intruder. I had strengthened the barriers around my chambers, so I had known instantly it was her. I wasn’t sure how she did it, but that’s how I’d found her so fast.
I opened the door and gestured for her to enter first. While she took in the space, I wove a protective barrier around the room, shielding us from unwanted ears.
