Xander’s POV
She ruined everything! I could barely breathe through my anger.
My eyes were hot, red as my men dragged her and threw her before me.
Estella slammed to the floor, shaking in panic. Her obvious fear filled me with disgust.
Stupid b***h, she ruined everything!
I dragged a hand through my hair, barely concealing a frustrated yell.
All my plans! All the money I spent to bribe the elders!
What would Father think? I was pissed!
I plotted for months because Father doubted my ability. He hadn’t yet appointed a Lycan successor. This was supposed to be my moment! The Alpha post was supposed to show him—Show the entire court that I was ready!
But no. The filthy hybrid just had to play politics.
After all I did for her! I ignored her bloodline and publicly declared her as my wife to be. And what did she do in return? Shatter my dreams with one vote!
“Stupid ungrateful half-blood!!” I cursed under my breath..
“Xander, stop this,” Estella growled, straining against her shackles. “Let my uncle go!”
Her defiance only served to send fire through my veins.
“Shut up!” I snapped, my limbs shaking with anger.
She disgraced me. In front of all the Elders. The nobles. Even the court ladies. Everyone who mattered!
If she had just stayed loyal, she could have had everything! My name. My power. But no, she wanted to play Kingmaker.
I was seething, my ears roaring in anger. I had to make her pay! Had to show the price for going against a prince!
“Don’t be stupid Xander,” She was still struggling against her holds, her normally soft voice now sharp and irritated.. “I didn’t do anything you didn’t deserve. You betrayed me first!”
A small crowd had formed around us now, several people from the meeting room coming up.
My cheeks heated. She mocked me publicly.
No one!
No one dared to speak to me that way!
She thought she was defiant, staring at me with those eyes!
But I would break her. Show them all, I wasn’t to be trifled with.
“You think you’re bold?” I growled at her then flicked a wrist at my guard. “Bring him.”
Deep satisfaction and pleasure leaked into my stomach as my men dragged the human forward.
“Uncle!” Estella cried out. Her composure crumpling at the sight of the unconscious man.
I spared him a glance. My men had done a real number on him. Blood seeped from shallow wounds. His face was heavily bruised and his body limp like a rag doll. Good.
“Xander, No— Stop!” She screamed as she lurched towards the man only to be dragged back by her restraints.
“See what your little performance earned him?” I sneered coldly. “Let’s see if that vote is worth his life.”
“You monster!” Her eyes narrowed as her entire frame shook. “He did nothing to you! NOTHING! You’re just a weak coward, punishing him because you couldn’t win fairly!”
“Fairly?” I stalked towards her, disgust riling me at the smell of human blood.
“I don't need fairness, I’m the prince! I have birthright, something you’ll never have with your dirty human blood!”
I spat on the floor by her feet, “You! Both of you! Are not worthy of breathing the same air as pure bloods. You. Deserve. To. Die.”
Her eyes shone with tears but they didn’t fall. She held her head up, glaring at me like she had a right to look into my eyes.
But I would fix all that. I would teach her to cower.
My head c****d and a smug smile took over my lips. “But wait—- that’s not right, is it? I almost forgot. You’re half-blood. You have some wolf blood in you. Will you be afraid of silver?”
My ears sung with delicious justice as my hands slowly pulled out a silver dagger from my waistcoat pocket.
She began to shake, her eyes darting to the dagger nervously.
Good. My lips spread in a smile as I unsheathed the dagger, letting the sunlight catch the glint of the silver before positioning it over her heart.
“Let’s see what half you bleed from.”

Estella’s pov
The silver burned my skin, cold and blindingly painful as it slashed open the collar of my dress.
I inhaled sharply, gasping for breath as a cold chill from the dagger frosted over my limbs.
Xander chuckled in delight, his eyes shining and crazed as I trembled.
“You know I might let you go,” He grinned mockingly “You just have to kneel right here and put that filthy mouth of yours to better use.”
Bile rose up my throat at his insinuation! Bastard!
Disgusted, my lips twisted then I spat in his face.
Xander froze, his eyes wide in shock as the spittle slid down his jaw, then his eyes darkened in anger.
I had only a second to brace myself before he backhanded me.
My head snapped to the side from the force, I gasped, blinking and trying to blink through the pain when I felt it.
An excruciating cold fire flaring from my shoulder.
“Xander!” My mouth dropped in shock as my limbs trembled as blood began to gush from my shoulder blade.
He stabbed me!
“Beg!” His voice shook with rage. “BEG! YOU HALF-BREED w***e!”
Goddess, it was hard to breathe now. The pain constricting my lungs. Unbidden, tears rolled down the sides of my eyes as I gnashed my teeth, fighting to stay conscious.
“Never!” I grunted out, revulsion racking through me as I pushed my head up to face him. “I’d rather die!”
Xander screamed in fury, his voice unlike I’d ever heard it before as he raised the dagger high to strike my heart.
I braced myself, closing my eyes as my ribs shook, waiting for the impact. But I it never came.
Suddenly everything stopped. No noise from the onlookers, no taunts from Xander. Nothing..
My eyes fluttered open and I saw it.
A strong hand clamped over Xander’s wrist.
Xander’s eyes widened in fear and he turned around “F…Father?”
