Estella’s POV
“How the hell did this happen? Why did they go after her now?” I snarled as we ran through the academy grounds.
“I don’t know how, but word spread that Bree had stopped drinking the rejuvenation potion. The Tribunal confronted her, and she admitted it, saying she no longer needed it! They claimed she challenged the Tribunal’s authority and incited insubordination, so they announced they were going to make an example of her and asked everyone to be there to witness it!”
My stomach dropped.
“An example?”
“They’re torturing her, Estella,” Felix snarled through gritted teeth. “They’re trying to force her to admit she was tricked by you so they could punish you too! If she gives in…”
“She won’t,” I said determinedly. “Because we’re putting an end to this!”
