Estella’s POV I woke to a sight that was both foreign and horribly familiar. Pale plaster carved with curling vines adorned the edges of the ceiling, and the fancy chandelier in the middle told me I was no longer in my crappy room in the dorm. Darius had brought me back to the palace. I kicked the covers off and swung my legs over the side of the bed, then froze. Someone had changed me into a knee-length nightdress, but that wasn’t what shocked me the most. Gold circlets glittered around each of my ankles, encrusted with tiny rubies that looked like blood.
