Darius’s POV The chains shattered shortly before my sanity did. The beast inside me howled and tore at the fragile remnants of my restraint, its hunger an endless, gnawing thing. It wanted to taste her skin, to brand her with teeth and blood and claim her as ours in every way possible. The man within me wanted her too, but for entirely different reasons. My need for her was quieter, deeper. It was longing, not rage. Worship, not hunger. But when she stepped closer, defiance burning in her gaze, man and beast melted into one.
