Our Entwined Fate

Chapter 1

It was a great Dismay,

That Brianna Dlamini had to spend her summer holidays in Maceió while her friends partied around in the country while few vacationed in France and Paris.

" Satisfy your hunger drive, with a great vibe" was heard enthusiastically. It was Brianna trying to gain the customer's attention. She had an arrow-shaped sign in her hand pointing to a cozy cafe "Copper chimney".

The need for money to make a living has forced her to work her ass off. Ignoring whatever her heart wished the little sixteen years old girl worked hard.

It was just 10 minutes more for her shift to end and then she would be getting more 9 Brazilian real per hour for doing overtime.

The eagerness to earn money forced her to be enthusiastic. "Get some superb Mac and cheese, fishes, shrimps here" Brianna's tired voice could be heard.

After gaining the attention of the customers and sending them inside she excused herself to drink water. Grabbing her bottle in hand she drank a few sips of warm water to keep herself fit.

After keeping the bottle in her bag she turned around to go but her reflection caught her attention that could be seen on the glass of the cafe. She was all sweaty and her few flicks were stuck on her broad forehead.

Dressed up in a yellow crop top and black shots that were paired with her black snickers so that she could be comfortable and her legs would not be sore after standing for hours. She had a "copper chimney's" apron.

Ignoring her tired self she went out and started her work. Her duty hours were over and her overtime has already started. After working for 3 hours extra she grabbed her bag and left the cafe after signing the register.

Her house was at a distance of some 35 minutes. To save a little more money she started walking, Ignoring the pain in her leg and her lower back. After a long walk, she reached her lane. The lane was very narrow and couldn't allow more than two-person to enter at a time.

She walked down the lane and the last house was her's. It was a two-storeyed house. It was red in color but from a lot of sides, the color was peeled off. The house had a brown roof. It was very simple but at the same time elegant.

Brianna after looking at the state of her house was at one side proud that she has made that house by her own hard-work and money while the other side worried that it needs a repair and she didn't have money.

Ignoring all the thoughts she entered her house and went to her room to get changed and decided to have some food as she was famished. After working for the whole day she decided to sleep.

The bed was a small compact one which could hardly adjust a single person and was made of a hard mattress, the room had a leakage and her bookshelf was a little broken. The room was painted in black showing the darkness in her life. Despite all this, she loved her room a lot.  Leaving aside all her thoughts she fell on her bed that seemed to be heaven after standing for the entire day.

Before she fell into a deep slumber her phone rang. Standing up from her place she moved towards her phone to see it was from Roy. She picked up the phone and heard a deep manly  voice,

" Brianna she is out of her senses, she is not ready to listen to any of us. She is not doing good"

" I am coming, just take care of her I'll be there within sometime", said Brianna.

Cutting the call she immediately moved towards the door without even Changing. She was worried about her mother. She immediately called up a taxi and drove to the " Spoiler Bar" where her mother was a bartender and after her shift ends, she sings too.

She reached a small bar, which looked like a bride with the lights and the decorations. Entering inside she scrunched her face in disgust looking at the shabby tables and chairs.

She ignored all the eyes that were gawking at her like she was a meal. The men were staring her lustily. While the other's who were regular members of the bar ignored her completely because it was a daily scene.

She just moved towards the bar counter and saw her mother asking for more while Roy the manager of the bar was trying to handle her. She immediately ran towards her mother and put her hand on the shoulder and said, 

"Enough is enough mom, you are more than drunk.

" It's enough for today, let's go home. I'll call the taxi and then we will go home. Okay"

" No I want to drink more, I am not yet satisfied. I am not drunk too. See I can even stand straight", said Adah her mother trying to stand straight but she stumbled.

Ignoring her talks Brianna asked Roy to call for a taxi and she started dragging her mother outside. She was already tired and dragging her mother was not at all helping her back pain. She was waiting for the taxi at the entrance and saw Roy there and said angrily,

" I have told you a thousand times to not let her drink so much! Then why the hell this happens every day"

" Brianna you know right, even after saying her No she never listens to us. After her shift, she starts singing her sad, heartbroken songs and drinking at the same time. No matter how much we stop her she never pays any heed to our pleading", explained Roy helplessly.

Brianna didn't say anything more because she knows when her mother has made a mind no one can ever change it. After her father's exit from their life, her mother has been living with the support of this alcohol only. Her mother was a superb singer and has launched her 2 albums before her downfall and from there she got had got the love for Music.

" You are more like my daughter Bri, I'll just say till when are you going to take care of your mother? You have your own life. You can't stay in such a bad and unstable environment", said Roy softly.

" I know! But she is my mother. She took care of me after my dad left us on the roads without thinking about what will we do. She has always been there for me, so I cannot abandon her when she needs me. She is just depressed after that Man's betrayal", said Brianna with surety in her voice.

Before anyone could say anything the taxi arrived, Brianna along with Roy made Adah sit on the backseat. After Thanking Roy she left.

After a long drive, they reached their home and after paying the driver she held her mother and took her to the house. All the while her mother was asking for more drink.
