GRACE POV I walked fast. Too fast. The sound of my boots on the marble floor echoed like a warning I wasn’t listening to. Distance. That was the only thing I needed right now. Space. Air. Anything that didn’t smell like peppermint, leather, and sin. Connor. Just thinking his name made my chest tighten, like there was a damn hole where he’d been standing. It was ridiculous, and I hated every second of it. Because I wasn’t supposed to miss him. Hell, I’d known him for—what—three days? Four?
