The Alpha's Queen

2nd Unknown POV

Walking into, or rather, sneaking onto the Golden Sun Pack territory is going to be a difficult challenge. Rumor has it that the borders are guarded by not only wolves, but also surveillance cameras and laser beams. I'm not in that much of a hurry to see the Moon Goddess on the other side of life. This mission that she has me on is going to possibly get me killed or on permanent vacation in their dungeon. I'm hoping that the witches will be able to help me with that though. I've heard that they have a potion that can help mask your scent, and only your scent. Like, if someone is standing right next to you while you're standing in a rose bush holding a steak; they'll be able to smell the roses and only the roses. 

the witches don't trust anyone outside their coven, honestly I can't say that I blame them much. But I've been sitting on their territory border now for a few hours. When I arrived, so many hands were pointed in my direction, just waiting for me to make a move to hurt or harm them in any way. 

"I have an appointment with Nerifina, she told me to state that I was on a protective mission to the border guards."

"Stay here", a disembodied voice said. Where did this voice think that I was going? From the moment I stepped onto their territory line, I was surrounded and silently informed that any wrong move would result in my demise. i never heard the disembodied voice move, and i never had a chance to see who owned the voice either. But then, given my circumstances of my arrival, I wasn't going to make any moves to start searching faces. Instead, i just sat down where I was standing, thankfully I was close enough to a tree that i was able to get comfortable while I waited. And here I've been sitting for the last few hours.  I've always heard that the witches work on their own timeline, but since ive never had any business dealings with them before, I didn't realize that I would be met with such a large show of power aimed at me. 

After what felt like eternity, I was granted permission to cross the invisible line. "Come with me, the disembodied voice said. Only now, it's standing about 10 feet away from me, and I can see that the voice belongs to a young lady with an unworldly-beauty about her. I promise, I was trying my hardest to not stare at her, but she has got to be the most beautiful being I've ever seen. Standing close to five feet, four inches; she wasn't very tall at all. Her hair just barely touches her shoulders, and is so dark in color that i'm able to see the purple highlights even under the shade of the trees. Her unique eyes are the same deep purple-bluish color of African Violet flowers that my mother loves so much, set into almond shaped eyes that turn down instead of out and up that most people have. Because of the cloak that she's currently wearing, I'm unable to view anything below her neck. 

As I'm following her to our destination, I feel a stirring in the pit of my stomach that must be nerves. After about thirty minutes, we arrive at a structure that looks to be some type of booth or outdoor shed. Looking to be about five feet by ten feet, it wasn't very big at all. Walking inside, I instantly feel like the walls are closing in on us. it feels very tight and cramped inside, and there are only three of us standing in the little room like structure. 

"Thank you Krisfina", she said, giving the beauty in front of me a hug. " Your service was a great help and truly appreciated. If you could be so kind as to wait outside until I've finished speaking with our visitor, you can lead him safely to the border once we've concluded our visit." With that, the beauty turned and went outside. "How are you holding up?" She turned to ask me. "It's not every day that someone is given a mission by the Moon Goddess herself." she stated.

"What makes you think that I'm on a mission for the Mother Goddess?" I asked her, instantly becoming suspicious of her. "I don't believe I've told you that, or anything at all, about a mission. Only that I needed the ability to mask my scent from others".

"You mistakenly think that I am unable to see what's going on, or know events that are going on around me and within my territory." she said, c*****g one eyebrow up and looking at me. "We all come from the Mother Goddess, it doesn't matter what mystical species you are, or what you name you call her by. We're all part of the same family and ultimately will have to answer to the wishes, wants and needs of the same higher power. Regardless of our individuality, regardless of how we look, or even where we come from. We all bleed the same color, we all put on our pants one leg at a time, we are all connected through the same higher power. So don't think that you and the rest of the wolf shifters are any different or better than the rest of the mystical community."

What could I say to that? She is entirely right about what she's saying. "I'm not trying to say that you don't have a connection to the Goddess, what I'm asking is who told you that I was on a mission from the Mother Goddess?" 

"That would have been a better way to phrase your question, young one. And the answer would be, the Goddess herself came to me some time ago and informed me that she will be sending someone my way that will need my help for a quest that they must complete. That it was imperative that I help this person in their Quest, so that they would be able to successfully complete their mission. So, since I already know what you are going to need, I had it prepared for you in advance and was waiting for you to. But I have another dilemma that I must deal with, and this dilemma concerns you and a few members of my coven. I'll leave that for another time, but I will say this; your ability to complete this quest is going to benefit not only you and your pack, but my coven as well. I wish you great speed, health, and successfully completing your mission. I've added a little something extra into you item. You will only need to spray this mixture on your pulse points well before you arrive at the pack lands of the Golden Sun pack. I'll help you with this one suggestion on how to enter undetected. At the northwest area of the pack's borders, you will find a bit of property that is currently unoccupied. This will be the safest way for you to gain access onto the lands. I would suggest that this is the point where you put the spray on. and you will be able to safely walk onto the pack lands from here. Once there, your scent will be masked, but you will have to take care not to leave a trail to be found. I can concoct potions to mask your scent as well as make the eyes of others look over you like you're not there. But, if you are careless in your activities, your presence will be known instantly." She warned me.

With that said, she ushered me out of the small shed, promising to explain everything once I return and my quest is complete. Krisfina was waiting for us about fifty feet away sitting under the shade of an old willow tree. When she spotted us exiting out of the shed, she stood up and started walking towards us. take care my young friend, and stay true to yourself. You are in for some exciting times that will ultimately define the fate of our futures. Please be careful in your dealings, keep your mind clear, and swift with your thoughts and actions. And may the Goddess bless you in your endeavor and you are able to return here safely and unharmed when your quest is over."

That is how I found myself here, just behind the tree-line watching the alpha and luna of the Golden Moon pack. I have to admit, the spray that Norifina gave me works great. Even though I'm upwind of them and only about seventy-five feet away from them; they can't seem to smell or see me. I'm also close enough that I'm able to hear their whole conversation without needing to use my wolf's added hearing. Now that I now have my target in sights, I can continue watching over her and keep her safe from harm. Now the bigger question is, how long will I be here protecting the luna from a pack other than my own, and keeping her safe from whatever harm the Mother Goddess has foreseen?
