The next morning, I rushed through my morning routine. Brush teeth, check; combed hair, check; breakfast, check; apples and water for snacking, check. With my bag packed and ready, I told momma that I was going outside to study under the sun and left out the door. It was hard to walk to my hiding spot, I wanted to run all the way there. But I forced myself to walk. I didn’t want anybody to question me about where I was running off to. Making my way behind the waterfall, I was able to find a way to walk into the cave without having to swim to it. Situating myself and getting comfortable, I pulled out my lantern and book on the History of the packs. Sitting my bag of snacks down next to my backpack, I grabbed an apple out of the bag, cracked open the book and started reading. Making sure
