“Pregnant?” Lucifer repeated once again, his eyes wide. He couldn’t believe his ears.
“Yes,” the doctor confirmed, nodding as he looked down at his clipboard.. “We’ll need to run additional tests to confirm how far along she is and ensure both mother and baby are healthy.”
The doctor’s voice faded into the background as Lucifer’s mind raced. His gaze shifted to the door behind which Katherine lay. She didn’t know yet.
And neither of them was ready for what this revelation would mean.
“Okay…thank you, doctor.” He said, his voice almost low as he looked back at Katherine sleeping on the bed. He took a deep breath, moving to take a seat.
