Girl What!!

“Did he touch you?” I picked up the glass in front of me and took a slow sip, mostly because Katya was staring at me with the intensity of a police detective who had finally found the woman responsible for ruining her entire investigation. “He searched me.” “That is not what I asked.” “That is literally what happened.” Katya leaned so close that one of her braids fell over her shoulder and brushed my arm. “Did he finger your p***y?” I almost inhaled the drink. “Absolutely not!” The words came out so loudly that the man sitting two stools away looked over at us. I turned my head and smiled at him. He slowly turned back around. I faced Katya again and lowered my voice. “He did not do that. What is wrong with you?” “What is wrong with me?” she whispered. “You disappeared into a room with Dominic King for almost ten minutes and came out blushing, breathing hard, and walking like your underwear is wet” “My underwear is not wet!” Katya’s eyes dropped. “Then why are your thighs glued together?” I immediately separated them. She pointed at me. “Exactly!” “That proves nothing.” “It proves everything.” “It proves I know how to sit like a lady.” “You have never sat like a lady a day in your life.” “That is extremely insulting.” “That is extremely true.” I grabbed the drink again, but she pulled it out of my reach. “No. You do not get alcohol until you tell me what happened.” “You are holding my drink hostage?” “I am protecting the truth.” “You are being dramatic.” “You came out of that room looking like your body just received information your brain is still processing.” My cheeks became hotter. The annoying thing about Katya was that she always knew. I could lie to my mother, my sister, my boyfriend, the police, a priest, and possibly God if I was under enough pressure, but Katya would look at my left eyebrow for three seconds and announce every secret I had ever had. “Nothing happened,” I insisted. She stared at me. I stared back. Her eyes narrowed. Mine narrowed too, although I was not sure why. I think I just wanted her to know I was also capable of narrowing things. “Did he touch your boobs?” she asked. I looked away. Katya gasped. “He touched your boobs!” “He did not touch them.” “You looked away.” “I was looking at the bartender.” “The bartender is behind me.” “I know. I was checking if you were blocking him.” She grabbed my arm. “Sasha.” “He brushed them.” Her mouth fell open. “Brushed them?” “Yes.” “With his hands?” “No, Katya. With a feather.” “Do not get smart with me.” “You asked a stupid question.” “How did he brush them?” “He was searching me.” “Under your shirt?” I hesitated. That was my mistake. Katya’s eyes became enormous. “He put his hands under your shirt?” “It was a search.” “That man has searched hundreds of people without putting his hands under their shirts.” “Well, maybe the others looked less suspicious.” “Where exactly were you hiding a weapon?” “I have curves. There are possibilities.” Katya slapped her hand over her mouth, but I could still see the laugh shaking her shoulders. “This is not funny.” “It is a little funny.” “It is not.” “You let Dominic King feel you up and you are standing here pretending it was airport security.” “He did not feel me up.” “How slowly did he search you?” I pressed my lips together. Her smile disappeared. “Oh, my God. He was slow.” “He was careful.” “He was enjoying himself.” “You do not know that.” “Did he breathe against your neck?” I froze. Katya threw both hands into the air. “I knew it!” “Keep your voice down!” “He breathed against your neck?” “It was a small room. People breathe.” “Did his mouth touch your skin?” “No.” “Did you want it to?” “No.” The answer came out so quickly that Katya smiled. I hated that smile. It was the smile she wore whenever she knew she had caught me lying and wanted to watch me struggle before she finished me off. “You wanted him to kiss your neck.” “I wanted him to finish the search.” “You wanted him to finish something.” “Katya.” “Did he make you wet?” My mouth dropped open. “You cannot ask people that.” “I just did.” “We are in public.” “We are in a biker clubhouse. A man over there is drinking from a boot.” I glanced over. A man was, in fact, drinking from a boot. I turned back. “That is not the point.” “It is exactly the point. Nobody here cares about your v****a except me, and I care because you are my best friend.” “That is not comforting.” “Answer me.” “No.” “You are lying.” “I am not.” “You are squeezing your legs again.” I looked down. My thighs had somehow found each other. Traitors. I separated them for the second time. Katya nodded proudly. “Thank you for confirming.” “I confirmed nothing.” “You walked into this clubhouse with heartbreak and walked out of that room with a crush on an enforcer.” “I do not have a crush.” “What do you have?” “A temporary hormonal emergency.” “That is a crush with bad intentions.” I snatched my drink from her hand and took another sip. Katya watched me over the rim of the glass. “What else happened?” “Nothing.” “Did he kiss you?” “No.” “Did you kiss him?” “No.” “Did he put you against the wall?” I stopped drinking. Her eyes widened. “You are terrible at hiding things.” “He did not put me against the wall.” “He absolutely put you against the wall.” “He stood near me while the wall happened to be behind me.” Katya stared at me. “That is the dumbest sentence you have ever said, and I have known you since you tried to convince your mother that the washing machine ate your report card.” “It could have.” “You put it in there.” “I was experimenting.” “With failure?” “With science.” She waved her hand impatiently. “Back to Dominic. Did he pin you?” “No.” “Did he hold you?” “Sort of.” “Where?” I touched my throat before I remembered I was not supposed to. Katya followed the movement. Her mouth dropped open. I quickly lowered my hand. Too late. “No.” “Katya.” “Did he have his hand around your throat?” “It sounds bad when you say it like that.” “How else should I say it?” “He was holding me.” “By your throat?” “Affectionately.” She blinked. “Dominic held your throat affectionately?” “Yes.” “That man does not even pass salt affectionately.” “Well, he was very gentle.” “You liked it.” “I did not say that.” “You did not have to. Your face just wrote an entire book about it.” I covered my cheeks with both hands. “Stop looking at me.” “You are smiling.” “I am not.” “You are smiling behind your hands.” “I am having a facial spasm.” “You are imagining his hand around your throat again.” I dropped my hands. “I hate you.” “No, you hate that I know you.” She leaned closer and lowered her voice. “Did you call him Daddy?”
