DO I LIKE HER?

ADRIEL’S POV

I undress after getting home from work. I put on a comfortable cloth, leave my room and head to the kitchen to get myself a cold drink then microwave the food I got on my way home from work.

Adrian walks into the kitchen, dropping his plate in the sink.

“How are you mama?” Adrian asks me, hugging me from behind.

“I’m exhausted, do you know if Bells is around?” I ask while I bend down so I can be free from Adrian’s hug.

“Someone is asking of me?” Bella says, walking in and rolling her eyes.

I stretch my hand to the table in the middle of the kitchen so I can pick the white envelope there.

“Here, take”. I say stretching my hand holding the envelope towards Bells.

She collects the envelope from me after looking at me suspiciously, she starts to open it and pauses for a minute.

“Wait... no...no... wait... I got the offer to be the business development manager of Kyle Kouture!” Bells shouts and runs to me for a tight hug.

“It is a lie”. Adrian shouts as he rushes towards Bells to see the letter.

“Adriel, thank you so much. This calls for a celebration”. Bells says to me, hugging me tighter.

“It calls for a celebration but that can be over the weekend, please I have to eat and sleep now. I think Bells should also get enough rest. We have to leave together tomorrow”. I say while bringing out my food from the microwave and walking to my room with me locking the doors behind.

Few hours later that feels like minutes from last night, I hear a knock on my door. I stand up from my dressing table to open the door.

“Adriel, are you done? Because I am done”. Bells ask me immediately I open the door.

“Yes, I just have to arrange my dressing table, please book our uber”. I respond almost immediately.

Few minutes later our uber arrive and we enter the car straight to work. On getting to work, I visit Kyle’s office first with Bells. I knock and let myself into Kyle’s office after getting a response.

“Good morning, Kyle”. I say immediately entering the office.

“Make some coffee for me by that table. You are early this morning, Adriel and that is good”. Kyle says, ignoring my greetings and without looking up.

“Erm... this is Bells, the business development manager”. I mention while pointing at Bells who stands completely confused beside me.

“Let her find her way to the HR manager while you make me my coffee”. Kyle says without looking up still.

I direct Bells to the HR manager’s office completely ignoring Kyle’s presence. After Bells exit, I shift closer to the table where the coffee making machine is, I wait till the coffee is ready and serve it out for Kyle.

“Will that be all sir?” I ask Kyle before I resolve into leaving his office.

“Schedule a meeting to hold by 10 this morning with all team leads, the two top models we have plus Brian and the new employee”. Kyle says after sipping his tea.

“Alright”. I reply silently.

I leave for my office to send a virtual broadcast to everyone about Kyle meeting with us in the next one hour.

(CONFERENCE ROOM)

“Good morning, everyone”. Kyle says while removing his shades.

“Good morning, sir”. We all chorus while some people adjust on their seats.

“I want to be as snappy as possible because I have somethings to do, I’m sure some of us have seen Bells, our business development manager”. Kyle says pointing at Bells while we all clap.

“So, the third project is a Fashion show in Paris. It does not concern everyone just I, my assistant and three models that I have handpicked already”. He says, looking at me as I raise my head up to steal a glance at him.

Fuck! I will be travelling with Kyle.

People’s discomfort about Kyles’s decision starts to turn to loud mumbles.

“I do not need anyone’s opinion! We will be gone for two weeks”. Kyles says as people quiet down.

“To add to what I have I said, before we all go back to our duties, I will be reassigning teams, Team A will now be headed by Adriel, Team B, Lucas and Team C, Jasmine. And if you are not comfortable with any of my decisions, send in your resignation letter to the HR department, Thank you”. He says and leaves the hall, leaving everyone surprised and in shock as Brian follows.

KYLE’S POV

“Can I say something”. Brian asks me immediately he shuts the door to the office.

“What’s that?” I ask him with a confused look.

“Adriel is so stunning, she has the brain. She is a ten over ten. Thin and elegant, bro she’s got curves in all the right places, so attractive. You do not mind me talking to her right?” He asks after babbling so much.

I look at him in disgust and a mixture of resentment.

“Man, go to your office and leave here!” I bark, dodging the question he asked and watch him leave quietly.

Why did I dodge the question though, she is just my assistant. It shouldn’t be a problem if he talks to her right?

I remember when I said to all of them in the conference room that I will be travelling to Paris with Adriel, how she looked at me. Her eyes are warm, tender sparkle, like a soft glow that draws you in, making you feel seen and cherished. Oh no! What is this?

Could I be falling for Adriel?
