Caroline woke before sunrise, staring at the ceiling until her eyes burned. She replayed her conversation with Thorne from the previous day, over and over. It was strange how much she trusted him, given that they had known each other for a brief period of time. She didn't remember ever feeling this safe when she was with Jasper.
