Chapter Twelve

Leigh opened her eyes the sunlight blinding her as it came thur windows. She found herself in a unfamiliar room. She scanned the room and found she was completely alone.
"Your awake" a tall golden haired elven woman said.
Leigh felt the woman's power emanate through out the room. She felt calm and safe. Leigh was at complete peace, no hurt, no turmoil.
"Who are you?" Leigh asked "Where am I"
"Your lying in a bed unconscious in Helme's temple." the woman replied "and "I am Parnella Goddess of the Sun.."
"Wait.Wha..am I dead?" Leigh said.
"Not yet, but your close my dear." Parnella answered
"Why are you here?" Leigh questioned her head spinning.
"My dear girl, I am her to save you." Parnella began "We have plans for you."
"Plans?" She gasp
"You see Dear, I need you live and I need you to marry the Prince." Parnella continued raising her eyebrows.
"You will not refuse." she said as looked Leigh in the eyes.
"He can't mar." Leigh tried to protest but she was cut off.
"He can and he will."Parnella said sternly
"You will rest and awake tomorrow, and we will return. We will complete the ceremony tomorrow afternoon." She concluded as she faded out of the room.
Leigh awoke to find in a unfamiliar room sun poured through the windows. Her eyes focused and she found Areyn standing by her bedside.
"Where am we?" She asked Aeryn.
"The Temple of Helme" He answered
"What happened?" She asked him.
"Your were stabbed and poisoned by black moon."He told her.
"But how did I." Leigh started to say but suddenly recalled her dream.
"Aeryn I am need some water please."She asked
"Leigh you were dying, but Helme and Parnella intervened." Aeryn explained while she drank her cup of water.
"there is a price." he went on.
"Leigh, I have to pay it." a nervous look in his eyes.
"Aeryn, I will marry you." She said surprising Aeryn
"It's not like I can refuse." She chuckled smiling.
"I am hungry, can I eat something?" Leigh asked her stomach starting to growl
Randir gave Leigh a basket of food that Malenetha brought with her. He also introduced her to Malenetha and explained how she tried to help save Leigh's life.
Leigh ate and when she finished Randir sent Lydia to help Leigh change and clean herself up. She found herself becoming tired and rested for a while awaking in the mid afternoon.
She awoke to find Aeryn and Randir deep in conversation both looking quite serious. She tried to listen but couldn't quite make out what they were saying, their voices only low whispers.
"What is so serious?" Leigh asked sitting herself up in the bed.
"Leigh, your awake."Aeryn smiled walk to the bed and sitting down beside her.
"Randir thinks we should tell my Father before we make it public knowledge we are married." Aeryn told her as he took her hand.
"You should decide how you wish to handle it." He continued
Before Leigh could respond Parnella enter Leigh room followed by a muscular man with long red hair and a large red beard. Leigh immediately recognized this man as Helme.
"Well, are you ready to get this ceremony underway?" Helme asked his eyes full of cheer.
"We are" Leigh answered springing to her feet.
The group followed the gods into the garden surrounding Helme's Temple. Parnella stop under a large and Ancient Oak.
"This is a great spot." Parnella remarked turning around to face the elves
"Leigh and Aeryn please take your places facing one another." She continued
Leigh and Aeryn took their place under the tree and faced each other as they took hands and locked eyes. Parnella placed a hand on of their shoulders. Helme walked up places his hands one the opposite shoulder as Parnella.
Parnella began speaking a ancient elven language that noone has spoke in thousands of years. Leigh could not understand what she was saying, but she could feel raw power flowing through her body. She could feel Aeryn and something else. She could put words to what is was, she knew something inside her had been awaken.
Parnella finished her chant and both gods dropped their hands.
"Leigh now has access to the fey light " Parnella said.
"Looks like a prolonged life for you my girl." Helme laughed patting Leigh's back.
"You will find you have some new abilities my dear." Parnella commented as she turned and began walking away as Helme followed and they faded away.
The group looked at the air that had once been the pair of gods. Leigh not sure what just happened but she could feel her connection to Aeryn. She could still feel the power coursing thur her, not fading even after the two gods dissappear.
"Plane shifting is a great way to travel, wish I could." Malenethera said breaking the silence.
"I would much prefer to stay here on this plane of existence." Randir replied with a teasing tone.
The group made their way back to Leigh's room in the temple. They didn't speak to each other, each one of them taking time to grasp what they had witnessed.
"Randir you and Mal return to the mansion, Leigh and I will return later." Aeryn ordered.
"I don't want to have to answer questions about Leigh's recovery tonight." Aeryn added.
"I will lead a prayer group and request everyone attend to pray for Leigh and a speedy recovery. That will buy you some time." Malenethera offered
"Perfect." Aeryn and Leigh both said at the sametime followed by laughing.
Randir and Malenethera departed the temple and went to the mansion. Leigh and Aeryn sat on Leigh's bed. Leigh looked at Aeryn not sure if all that happened was real. She though she might still be dreaming. Leigh reached for her arm and pinched it as hard as she could.
"Well, I am not dreaming." She said looking at Aeryn.
"No, my Love, your my wife." Aeryn said seriously
They waited in her room for what would be dinner time at the mansion and the couple made their way to the mansion.
