EBONY’S POV

‘Rowa!’ My arms wrapped around her and I knocked into the mirrored wall of the lift when the doors opened. I squeezed her so tight she had to tap me repeatedly on the back to get me to let go. My wet hair was dripping on the floor and she slipped when we walked into the penthouse. I caught her and pulled her into another embrace, this time more gentle.

‘I thought you had run from me.’ I whispered against her lips softly. She furrowed her eyebrows and shook her head. ‘If anyone had told me that what has happened and what I have learned in the last 48 hours was going to happen, I believe I would have run. But now, here, with you Ebony, I feel like I will never run from you. I don’t know what it is or why but I feel drawn to you. I feel safer and more complete and more like me when I am with you.’ Her voice trembled and her lip quivered when she finished.

She had made herself vulnerable in that moment and I loved her all the more for it. ‘It’s the mate bond Rowa. You and I, we were made for each other by the moon goddess. Our souls are intertwined.’ Rowa’s eyes opened wide and her lips curved into a smile. ‘So does that mean, you feel the same? You won’t leave me either?’ She asked.

I nodded and she kissed me hard. Her lips crashed into mine and her tongue licked at mine, she tasted phenomenal. Taking me by complete surprise, Rowa lifted me, wrapping my legs around her waist and walking over to the sofa. She sat down and I was astride her. Her hands reached under my towel and rested on my waist. I was bare before her, my breasts covered by the fluffy towel but the rest of me bare.

ROWA’S POV

Ebony looked so beautiful astride me. Her face was exquisite as her orgasm rippled through her. I wanted to see that face every day for the rest of my life and I would do everything within my power to make sure I didn’t mess up with her. She had told me that I was her mate, and I would be. I would follow her to the ends of the earth, or realm or whatever I had to do to never lose her.

‘Aurora wants me to tell you something.’ She said. I didn’t want her to tell me, if Ebony was my mate, then so was Aurora. I wanted to get to know her too. ‘Let her tell me.’ I responded and her she looked concerned. I nodded encouragingly and she took a deep breath and closed her eyes. When she opened them they were the amber eyes of her wolf.

I kissed her gently. ‘That kiss is for you Aurora.’ I said and cupped her face. She needles into my palm and smiled. ‘I hope I didn’t frighten you last night. I’m so glad to meet you. We have waited so long, all of us. You are more than we could ever have imagined. I love you Rowa.’ She smiled and kissed me softly. ‘I’ll give you back to Ebony now.’

‘No wait!’ I rushed. ‘I love you too Aurora. I want to get to know you too. I hope we can go for a run tonight when we land.’ She nodded and her face beamed. ‘I have never been so happy Rowa. And it’s all because of you.’ The amber eyes closed and Ebony’s emerald eyes were back.

‘I love you Ebony.’ I confessed. ‘I don’t know how to explain it, I don’t know how it has happened so fast but I do.’ Tears welled in the emerald eyes on my loves face. ‘It’s ok, if you don’t love me back I understand. But I thought you should know.’ I said the words, but my heart broke. I wanted so much for her to love me.

‘I do.’ She whispered as a single tear ran down her cheek. ‘I love you Rowa. From the moment I saw you on the stage, from the moment I smelled your scent, from the moment I heard your voice I have loved you. I want to live you forever. I want to spoil you, to treat you and give you everything your heart desires.’

I smiled so hard my face hurt and wiped the tear from her cheek. ‘I have something for you.’ I whispered. ‘But perhaps you should get dressed and maybe I should get changed first.’ She looked at me surprised and confused and then looked down. My dress was crumpled and the moisture from her arousal had stained it.

‘Hmm, yeah that’s not a good look!’ She laughed and I nodded. I helped her down and we walked into the bedroom. ‘I should have a few things in here you could wear.’ She said waving at her closet and I pulled out a multicoloured maxi dress and began to change.

She told me to leave the green dress on the bed and that it would be dry cleaned and be packed with her belongings. When I was dressed I sat at her vanity and tried to fix my messy hair. Her jewellery box was open and I noticed a ring I had seen before and I froze.

‘You can borrow anything you like.’ Ebony said kindly and kissed the top of my head when she walked past. It pulled me out of my stupor and I reached for the ring. It was silver, with two wings and in the centre a sky blue pearl. It was beautiful.

‘That was my mothers. She gave it to me, ehmmmm, I don’t know how many years ago.’ Ebony commented when she saw I was looking at it. ‘It’s the only one in the world. The pearl comes from the Enchanted Realm. It is against their laws to farm the pearls as they have magical properties. This was gifted to my mother as a princess as a thank you for her devotion to light magic. She gave it to me when I was in a bad place to help me see the light.’

‘I’ve seen this ring before.’ I said. Her head snapped towards me. ‘Impossible Rowa. You can’t have.’ She said soothingly. I shook my head and held the ring in my fist.

‘The woman who took me away from my parents, she wore this ring. She let me play with it when we were travelling to my foster family. She told me that she had had it for a long time, it was a gift from people she had helped.’ I looked up at her and her face was pale. ‘She told me that she planned to give it to her daughter who was having a hard time, to remind her of the light.’
