Something to look forward to

After our date that night Collin took me home and I went straight to my room to shower and then went straight to bed. It was getting closer and closer to my birthday and after everything Collin and I had experienced together - a lot of firsts for both of us, I was really looking forward to my birthday, losing my Virginity to this man was going to be the best present ever. I didn't really like shopping all that much, but she did and I did need to get a few things for my special times with Collin that were quickly approaching.

We got to Kohls and she told me all about Jacob and how things were going. It sounded like he was a bit controlling and jealous. I didn't really trust him, but she insisted she was happy with him. So I just told her to be careful, and don't let her guard down to fast.

"Dawn is telling me he isn't my mate ya know?"

"Oh? and what, you disagree with her?"

"Well... I mean no. not really but I mean you know that I may not even get a second chance mate, Kallie. That doesn't happen for everyone."

"Yeah, well that's true. So you are thinking about taking a chosen mate then already ? you aren't going to give it more time to make sure things are right with you two?"

"Well don't get me wrong, hes great 90% of the time. I am not ready for all of that, I am going to keep what Dawn said in mind, I feel like she's withholding information from me anyway if I am being honest. "

"I can't wait til I am able to shift, I wonder what my wolf will look like."

We decided we were about done shopping but I wanted to put in an application at Kohls. They have everything here from clothes, shoes, bedding and house supplies. I would love to be able to shop before or after I went to work for my friend's and family.

I put in my application and they told me someone would be in contact with me because they were really looking for people because they were short staffed.

We went home and I realized I hadn't heard from Collin all day. I decided to text him

-Hi babe! what are you up to?

-hey! I didn't want to bother you, I have been thinking about you all day though ! I am just laying in bed watching some TV. what are you up to?

-I just got home from shopping with Mitzy. I also put in an application at Kohls. 

-that's awesome! good luck! I hope you get an interview. I am sure all it will take is for them to meet you and they will happily hire you. Me and Cody are working on the cars here in a bit. Do you want me to come get you when we are done?

-come get me or we can hang out here. whatever you want to do. doesn't matter to me as long as I am with you, I am happy!

We probably would annoy most people if they ever read or heard us go back and fourth with the I love yous the way that we did, but I truly don't even care. I decided to throw the clothes that I got from Kohls into the laundry shoot to be washed. We were just a couple weeks away from my birthday now and I wasn't sure where it would happen, or how. I guess that wasn't something you really planned.

I went to watch some TV in the theater room and I got a phone call. I didn't recognize the number, but I went ahead and answered anyway.

-"Hello?"

-"Hello, this is Teressa from Kohls. I am calling for a Kallie Nicholas?"

-"Oh hi! this is her. "

-"Hi Kallie, we were looking over your application and we would like you bring you in for an interview sometime this week. Are you available? "

-"yes! I am available any time after 330 pm during the week and any time during the weekend for the most part."

-oh great! how about, hmmm let's see here... Wednesday at 4:30pm?

-great that will work! I will see you then! thank you so much!

-we look forward to meeting you. take care! bye.

-thank you! you too. bye!

I hung up the phone and I was so excited. I had an interview! I was a little nervous but, I couldn't wait !

I decided to call Collin to share my excitement.

**RING ... RING... RING**

-"Hey baby whats up?"

-"I am so excited! I have an interview with Kohls on Wednesday. do you think you could take me? I think seeing you before hand would really help me be calm for the interview."

-"that's great! yes I can take you."

-"yay! thank you! are you guys working on the cars now?"

-"Actually I am glad you called. We decided to just hang out instead of work on the car, so it may be a bit before I can come get you but if you want, we can just hang out and watch a movie at your place since it may be too late to go out."

-"okay that works for me. Let me know when you're on your way. love you "

-"love you too."

We hung up and I decided to find out what was going on with my dad and Gionna. I went to look for my dad and ran into Gionna instead. She had been extra moody lately and just complaining about everything. Her and my dad started to have disagreements about all the kids. She has 2 kids of her own, from her previous marriage.

"Oh, hi Gionna, have you seen my dad?"

"Nope. and I don't care where he is either." and she just walked away.

Dad where are you ?

Hey kid, I'm in my office. Do you need something?

I just ran into Gionna and she seems pretty ... angry. More so than usual. is something going on?

Yeah actually I was going to talk to you,Mitzy and Devon at the same time but since you are coming to me about it, I will tell you first. Gionna is leaving the pack. We are separating for a little while.  I don't know if she will come back or not. I just can't deal with how she has been acting anymore.

Sorry to hear that dad but I understand.

I could feel the link close between us and I had to say I was a little shocked. My dad tolerated a lot of crap. So for her to leave It was either her idea or she had done something to really p**s him off.

For the remainder of the day I decided to just spend some time walking around outside and mingling with some of the other pack members. As I was walking around I noticed Christine was with some new guy. I walked over to her to see who he was since they appeared to be going their separate ways after a long embrace.

"Hey Christine, who was that? "

"Oh that's just a friend, we met not too long after me and Cody split up. His name is Shawn."

"Oh okay then. so how have things been?"

"Okay, well it was good to see you. it's almost time for dinner so I need to get back to the house and get ready for some dinner. I'll talk to you later!"

I headed back for dinner and by the time I got home it was already being served. I took my seat at the table and just as I sat down I saw Gionna heading out the door. She didn't even say a word. She just left. I looked over at my dad and he didn't seem to notice, if he did he definitely didn't seem to care. We all sat in awkward silence the entire dinner. I couldn't wait to get out of there.

Just then I got a text from Collin,

-Hey! sorry I didn't tell you I was on my way. I know I'm early but I'm here."

-Thank the goddess, okay I will be right there to let you in.

He laughed gave me a kiss and I watched him creep down the stairs and out the front door. As I was turning around to walk back in my room I saw the light from my dad's room come on. I hurried into my room, shut the door and laid down to act like I was asleep incase he came in to check on me.

Luckily he didn't and I ended up staying awake until it was time for me to get up for school.
