"Lucca!", he returned his attention from some random blonde to me.
"Yeah?", he asked sipping his wine.
"Xavier... he's giving me a cold shoulder."
"Had he ever not? Not just you. All the humans. No, all the creatures."
"It's not like that.", I looked around the enormous golden tiled hall, sipping my wine. Not lying, it was really impressive. Everything there screamed money. Everything about it was just amazing. After all, Italians do have some class. A giant golden luminous chandelier hung in the middle of the enormous hall, that caught my attention in particular.
"Don't think much about it.", he said patting my shoulder.
"I don't want him to be like that. And Adrian... he- he looked at me... like he was so disappointed. Man! I don't want all this shit.", I rubbed my temple. There was complete silence after that. He seemed to be in deep thoughts. I glanced at him. His lips moved, saying silent words and then thinned into a line, followed by a frown as he looked away.
"What is it?", I raised a brow.
He sighed. "Nothing"
I was gonna say something but was interrupted as Carmine Romanov approached us. He was clad in a dark grey well tailored suit, while mine was black.
"Mr. Volkov! It's so nice to have you here.", he said with his usual humble tone.
"That's a pleasure for me that you invited us.", I gave him my most professional smile as we shook hands.
"How's business going?"
"Quite really fine.", to which he nodded smiling.
"I heard you're putting one of the lands on auction.", I frowned.
"I assume you're mistaken."
"Still that's not a really bad idea.", he sipped his wine.
"I told you I'm not gonna sell any piece of land."
"That's not really a beneficial choice."
"I, myself, decide what is beneficial for me.", I tried my best to keep my tone humble. He nodded, smiling.
"But I'm afraid your persistence can cause a threat to all of your business.", Was that a Threat? "That's not the choice of a wise businessman. Just advising.", he shrugged before turning around and walking away.
That fucker. My jaw clenched.

I pushed the door open with a little too much force as I stormed in. That fucker had the nerve to threat me. I loosened my tie as I took out a water bottle from refrigerator. Gulping the liquid in one go, I looked back at the empty house. Adrien was still away. Probably out with Xavier. He should've been there so that, that bastard of a man wouldn't have dared to even stand there Infront of me, let alone threat me. He was the only heir of the richest family in Italy, afterall. Even if he wasn't related to mafia, he owned the most prestigious cuisines there. He was an important figure. And Romanov or even any other family would never mess with him. It was a bad idea accepting invitation from them. I thought it might be the end of the truce, finally. But After all, they're still the same fuckers.
I hit the bottle on the floor with all my force. The thudding sound echoed in the empty house.
"Why can't these fuckers just leave me alone?", I was shouting at the top of my lungs in an attempt to let all the steam out.
I sat down leaning my back on the fridge and closed my eyes. I needed a break. Why does everything has to go the wrong way?
Lucca, that bastard, he really left me to go get a blonde. I'll surely beat him to death this time or maybe I should just get rid of his manhood so that he won't be whoring around anymore. A chuckle escaped out of my lips. That sick fucker.
Standing up, I took out the beer cans from the refrigerator. I needed it, so bad. Lucca must've some sandwiches or chips. I made my way upstairs to Lucca's room.
I might be destroying his room today but anyways he deserves it.
