The evening deepened as the tribe took up patrol. Clouds covered the sky, making visibility difficult. Only the pack's keen sense of sight helped even in the thick darkness. Few animals moved about the woods. Even the predatory ones kept to their dens. It was as though they knew evil was lurking.
