Night descended quickly. The sun had long faded and was replaced with a bright moon high in the ebony sky. Its light reflected on the newly formed rock wall on the mountain causing it to shine. Stars sparkled down like pieces of a diamond scattered about. The entire scene gave the impression of peace. Yet the world it looked down upon was searching hard for that peace. Behind the dense surface of the shining wall, the breathing of the three inhabitants was soft as they each laid down on the hard floor. The bedrolls had been removed from each backpack and laid out. They had carefully moved Brenna who was still out into a sleeping bag, protecting her from the chill of the cave. Each was surprised at how comfortable the room was. They had expected it to be much colder inside the dark hole.
