Anna froze, a flicker of doubt crossing her eyes. She looked at Joseph with disbelief.
Did he just... pull away from her?
Was he deliberately avoiding her because he rejected her approach?
Perhaps sensing the awkward atmosphere, Joseph immediately spoke up, "You haven't fully recovered yet, and it's too cold at the door. Come inside and rest."
Hearing his words, Anna smiled slightly and once again wrapped her arm around Joseph's, speaking softly, "I know you're worried about me, but I'm really fine."
Last night, Joseph had used a similar excuse to reject her. It seemed she needed to prove to him soon that she had completely recovered.
