Chapter Three

Astoria groggily awoke. She slowly blinked her forest green eyes. As her eyes adjusted to her surroundings she realized that she wasn't wearing her glasses yet she could see everything. "What the?! How can I see so clearly?" She wondered. The details were so vibrant and crisp. It was astounding. Was this because of her transition? Maybe she should have researched the change more in-depth.      “Where am I?” She thought. She looked around the room she was in. The bed she was in was soft, covered in different blankets of different pattern. She looked to the walls, different sized frames were scattered around the light green walls with animals, prints, and people were inside these frames. Her head was sore. She reached up to rub the sore area and was shocked to feel her hair lightly weaved into two fishtail braids. She looked down and was in an oversized navy tie-dyed night shirt with a pale moon on it. She tried to remembered what happened but was greeted with a fog.     When she looked to the corned she finally noticed a dozing Tobias. The odd thing was that even though it was him, he radiated as if he was wrapped in a blanket of soft light and warmness. Tobias was seated in a tall, wing backed chair in a dark chocolate brown shade. He was seated sideways with one leg pulled closer to his body and the other hanging over the arm of the large chair. A book of the anatomy and physiology of felines was open on his chest. He had the most beautiful face as he slept. She felt her hand reaching out to touch his face. He started to stir. Tobias slowly opened his pale blue grey eyes. He inclined his head into her open hand. “Good Morning” He said. Tori giggled saying “It's 7 at night Tobias.” “Well I can't help that it's like seeing the morning sun looking at you.” said Tobi as he pulled her into his lap and wrapped his arms around her. “I'm so sorry about earlier, ” said Tori “Anthony is a terrible person. I should have properly ended things with him rather than ignore him”      “It's ok Astoria. That will never happen again. I will always protect you, ” He said “You are the most important thing to me. More than my education, my family, my life. I love you. I have since the first day I met you at the office. I just didn't know how to go about my feelings for you. I didn't know what these feelings were exactly. I never met a girl like you. I knew you were with Anthony so I tried to keep my distance and keep our relationship strictly professional. But the day you knocked on my car window just cemented how amazing you were and I couldn't stay away. When I saw him hurt you earlier I could've killed him. If I had been any later who knows what would've happened to you. I was so scared.” “Tobias, you got to me. That's what matters. I have a confession. I love you too. More than anyone. I tried so hard to get your attention, but I thought my love for you was one sided.” She said. “Doc said he knew the day he hired you that we were mates” He smiled “I guess he knows his stuff after all.” “What do we do now?” asked Tori. Tobias looked into her green eyes and pulled her close. “Astoria. May I.. May I kiss you? I know you've been through so much today and the last thing you need is another man coming along and forcing himself on you. I want your permission before anything happens between us” Tobias said gently.     Tori placed both her hands on the sides of his face and leaned in so close to him that their foreheads touched. “Tobias, I am your mate. I love you. I want you to kiss me whenever you like. I give my consent today, tomorrow, and every day after” She said lovingly. Tobias pulled her even closer and he kissed her. Gently at first. He had never kissed a girl before and hoped she couldn't tell. She placed her hands in his hair and returned his kiss gently as well but there was a building hunger. They kissed more and more passionately. He pivoted in the chair with her still in his lap, not ending the kiss.     He lifted her in his arms and walked to his bed, never breaking their connection. With her arms still around his neck she stepped down onto his bed still kissing him although she now used her tongue to gently graze his lips. She had never felt this connection before. Even Anthony never had pulled this from her. It was like Tobias was her life force. He opened his mouth and her tongue met his. They stroked each other back and forth. Tobias felt his groin stir. He blushed and she felt the heat radiating from his face. He broke their connection by taking a step back. Tori sat down at the edge of his bed and said quietly “Tobias... It's ok. If you want to stop we can. I 'm fine with however you want to proceed with things.” He didn't look at her but down at his hands and replied “The thing is I don't exactly know how to proceed Tori. I want to be with you in every sense of the word. I just don't want you to feel pressured because I know you've been through a lot. Also I feel that it's only fair for me to be as honest with you as possible... I need to tell you that I've never been with anyone before so this would be my first time.” “Really Tobias? I thought you would've been with girls before, being in college and all” she said “Why don't you come here and let's talk.” She scooted further back in the bed and patted next to her. Tobias slowly walked to his bed and sat down on the side he normally slept on. “I was always busy with my studies and work. Girls tried to get my attention but I wasn't interested. Until you came along that is.” He said.     “How about this... Why do you slide in next to me and let's take this slow. Whatever happens happens. We can just talk and cuddle. I don't want you to worry. I am ok with whatever we do. And honestly I don't mind if you are a virgin or not. I love you regardless of your experience and want to be with you. Please don't worry.” She said.
