Chapter 3 Kitka eased the Corvette down the dirt road to his home and put the car in the garage. Home was a log cabin with a large front porch facing Mount McKinley and the Susitna River. The logs were a bit much, but he'd fallen in love with the view ten years before. Once inside, he dumped his duffel bag next to the door. God, he was glad to be home. Things were just the way he wanted them, just the way he left them. The main room was a large, open space with waist-high shelves of books rising up along the log walls. The north wall had windows above the shelves; the south wall displayed a collection of hunting knives created by various tribal artists.
