Chapter Twenty
Madison paced the length of the hall. Her heels clacked against the linoleum. The sound of boots accompanied her pacing.
Luke walked in the opposite direction of her. She and Paul’s best friend would meet in the middle, about-face, and head in the other direction. When they met the wall, they’d turn and repeat the process.
“The two of you are driving me crazy,” said Elaine. “He’s going to be fine.”
“I’ve never been on this side of the OR,” said Madison. “I’m always the one holding the scalpel.”
