Chapter Seven There was a chill in the air of the exam room. Off and on, Paul felt something nip at his toes. Those sensations were there and gone before he could be sure. Playing peekaboo like the rest of him was a child. But unlike a baby, Paul was never surprised when the feeling came back to his legs. He knew that each time his nerves hid his sense of touch away that it would always come back to reveal itself. He was happy to wait awhile longer for the sensations to come home and stay for good so long as he was able to keep looking at Madison Gray. The gorgeous doctor kept hiding behind the clipboard with his medical records or dipping behind the machine. Each time she returned, Paul felt a giddy bubble of joy in his chest, like a baby seeing the magic of what was once lost unveiled
