The Inception of a New Bond !

Chapter - 9

"Well , I ..." saying this Maiara turned back with a guilty smile on her face.

Just then she was shocked to find Drake closing his eyes. "Why has he closed his eyes ?" thought Maiara in her head.

"Please don't leave me Mom !" begged Drake with a sad face still with closed eyes.

"Wait a minute. Does he have a habit of walking and talking during sleep ?" assumed Maiara in her head.

"Mom , please don't leave me , I won't do it again !" he begged once again and knelt on the ground.

"Looks like he misses his Mother a lot. Even I miss my parents too" murmured Maiara with a teary eye.

Maiara knelt down on the ground too and said "Don't worry , I am not going to leave you ! I'm here with you"

Hearing this , there was a smile on Drake's face. "Now go back to sleep" ordered Maiara with a polite voice.

Drake did as he was ordered and slept on the ground , holding Maiara's hand. Maiara removed her hand cautiously so as to not wake Drake up and left the room along with a white blanket.

After a few minutes , many screamings could be heard in the hallway. Maids were shouting "Ghost ! Ghost !" and running here and there , creating a chaos in the whole palace.

"My plan worked !" said Maiara hiding behind a pillar. While running towards the entrance , hiding from all servants and maids , she said in her mind "Thankfully , I had a spare torch in my pocket , therefore I could fool them by covering myself with this white blanket and light. Moreover , they did think that I was a ghost. Now , I just need to leave this place somehow ..."

Just when she turned to her left while running , she got hit with someone on the head and was going to fall on the ground. But she didn't fall. Instead she could feel a hand on her waist , supporting her not to fall. She opened her eyes , which she had closed before by the hit.

Her eyes met with a pair of purple eyes. Maiara couldn't see that person's face fully for it was covered with a black cloth. Both of them were just looking at each other , but we're interrupted by a sound which said "Thief !"

Hearing this Maiara said in her mind "Did they know that it was a prank ?!"

She heard the voices approaching her. She quickly grabbed that person's arm and pulled her body upwards. Both of their faces were now just a few centimetres away.

"Are you sure you're gonna do this Maiara ?" asked Maiara herself in her mind.

"The thief is that side !" she heard the voices and footsteps approaching towards her.

"You don't have any other way , do you ?! Just do it !" said Maiara in her mind.

And without thinking further , she closed her eyes , wrapped her arms around that person's neck and pressed her lips on that person's lips. That guy's purple eyes expanded larger with shock.

The two soldiers came running towards them and were shocked to see the scene.

"These days youngsters ..." a soldier commented.

"What ? You feeling jealous because you don't have one ?" said another one.

"You ..." said the first one with an angry face.

"Fine ! Fine ! Let's go and not disturb them !" said that second soldier and grabbed the first one's arm. He pulled him along with him and they went where they came from.
