Chapter 3: Finally home

Annabelle

I ran for hours, I wish I could shift into my wolf, it would of made things easier but I kept trying and nothing was happening. I was a bit frustrated, today was supposed to be the day I could shift.

I had my wolf he was right here, I didn’t understand why I could let him out.

I felt guilty leaving Tyler, I’m sure by now he has noticed I’m gone and he is probably furious with me. The sun was beginning to slowly come up, I was finally able too see around me.

“Are you sure we are going the right way Arthur?”

I could hear him laugh, “Yeah we are. We should be there shortly.”

I felt the butterflies begin in my stomach, I was anxious to get there but also very nervous. As I continued to push myself to keep going even though I was completely exhausted.

I finally passed through another bush when I saw a large rock wall, I glanced up at it. I looked around when I noticed a small opening in the wall. I ran towards it when I seen a man walk out from it, I stopped for a moment I recognized him. I made it I was finally home.

I slowed down as I glanced towards him, I notice he also gave me the same look.

“Annabelle? Is that you?”

I gave him a large smile as I nodded, he shook his head as he ran towards me and gave me a big hug. I didn’t even need to think about who it was,

“How are you Frank?”

He nodded as he looked me over, Frank was my father’s most trusted friend. He always stood at the gate and would take over when he left.

Frank gave me a sad look, “Annabelle, as happy as I am to see you, I’m not sure your brother’s will feel the same. Where’s Tyler?”

I looked behind me and gave a I didn’t want to tell you look, “He’s coming.”

Frank seemed to know exactly what that meant as he gave me a disapproving look. He shook his head, “Oh Annabelle, you are so much like your mother. Always pushing your fathers buttons and knowing exactly how.”

He nodded as he spoke into his radio,

“My King and the Betas, I need the three of you at the gate immediately.”

I gave Frank a thankful smile I was waiting anxiously for them to show up. I knew they would be a bit angry too see me but I was hoping they would be a bit happy also. They couldn’t expect me to stay hidden forever.

Once I heard the door open, I seen all 3 of them walk out one at a time, I couldn’t tell who was who as they first walked out. Once I looked them over for a bit I was finally able to tell them all a part. I noticed Timothy has a mating mark as I couldn’t help but smile proudly at him, he was the one with a big heart when we were kids I was happy he found his mate. He was always in a rush to do everything I knew he would be the first. It wasn’t easy to find your mate in a city full of vampires.

Curtis was the first one to speak up as he looked me over, “Where’s Tyler?”

I looked over at Frank as I shrugged, “He’s coming, eventually.”

Curtis shook his head, “Damit Annabelle, did you f*****g flee? You were safe! You being here puts the entire city at risk! What the f**k are you thinking?”

Timothy was the first one to approach me as he gave me a big hug, he whispered in my ear, “I missed you sister. I’m so happy to see your safe.”

He looked back at Curtis, “We should get her inside before anyone notices she’s here.”

I saw Curtis roll his eyes as he opened the door to let me in, Franklin stood quietly as he watched everything. Once I went to walk in he gave me a small side hug.

Once I walked in I noticed nothing has changed, the city was exactly as I remembered. I felt relief walking in, it felt like I was finally home and I could breath. I heard Arthur speak,

“It sure feels good to be home.”

Curtis was pacing back and forth, “Can you tell me what the hell your doing here?”

I looked at my three brothers, “I missed home, you guys couldn’t expect me to hide forever. I want to be here with my family, I’m tired of hiding out. I just want a normal life with my family.”

Curtis began to laugh, “Are you f*****g kidding me? You’re here because your lonely. You have put us all at risk cause you don’t want to be hidden and safe anymore. Don’t you remember what happened with mom and dad. They died to make sure you were safe and your bored so you decided to come back. You are not normal Annabelle and you never will be you need to get that through your head.”

He continued to laugh nervously as Timothy tried to talk to him, “I get it bro, would you want to hide out forever. I wouldn’t. I would do the same.”

All three of them began to argue with each other on what to do with me, I watched them nervously as I waited for them to figure out what they were going to do.

They got distracted by their argument with a sound on the radio,

“My King and Betas, I have Tyler at the gate. He’s not as happy to be here as Annabelle is.”
